Bits of Leaves

Just some bits of leaves and border on this piece.  It's definitely taking shape.

Natural Wonders

Murals, balustrades, and fossils in the National Museum!

Wonderful Whitework

Beautiful whitework at the Moldovan national museum. There are a lot of fantastic needlewomen out in the villages.

More Flaky

The snowflake is emerging from the background now.

Honey And Beeswax

One of the local beekeepers came to the embassy a couple of weeks ago.  I bought, of course.  Some beeswax figures to give away and some linden honey for me.

Moldovan And Latvian Craft

These first three pictures are of Moldovan crafts.  The rest are of Latvian crafts that were loaned to the museum by the Latvian government for a temporary exhibition.  The belts are absolutely amazing.

About Three Inches

I have about three inches left on the bottom til I'm done.  Yay!  It shows I can do a whole big project in about three months when I put my hands to it.

Woven Rose Done

I finally finished my woven temari.  It had been staring at me long enough.  Came out pretty well, too.

Bridged

The bottom bridge is definitely crossed; now to keep filling in the stuff on it and to get that corner motif worked up.

Charity Start

I have started this snowflake for a charity group.  It'll be added to a bunch more and made into a quilt.  Now to get it done...

A Bit Of Bird

Not only am I working on the branch, I got a bit more bird done this time.  It's beginning to look like a picture.

Pretty Eggs

Real, hollowed out duck eggs painted prettily in Moldovan style.  They're lovely and they're mine, as a local artist brought them to the embassy to sell.

Slowly I Build

Been working some on the second house.  It's getting there, but I've not been able to stitch much lately.  I feel like such a slacker.  Even one of my coworkers asked me today why we're throwing so many parties to cause me to slack off on my stitching.

Moldovan Textiles

These pictures were taken last summer at the Moldovan National Museum.  Andreas just now processed the pictures so I could show them to you, though.  All pieces here have been hand embroidered or crocheted by Moldovans and are exquisite pieces of art.

Doesn't Look Like Much

I'm part of another round robin; it's a step by step one.  In this, we each do a single step on each block.  My assignment for this block was to put basic embellishments on the seams.  I did that, and now it's off to someone else to do more work for the seams.

Quartered

I have the first quarter of the piece almost done.  I really like the look of it so far.

Egged

I finished my purple egg.  I think it came out pretty well.

On To The Border

After finally getting the corner motif finished, I'm working on the bottom border now.  I'm feeling the pressure of starting this so late.

After The Tulips

The daffodils started blooming a good ten days after the tulips.  I don't know what was up with that.  Anyway, the daffodils look beautiful, and you can see the tulips are already past their peak.
