All But...

I now have all but the bottom of the monogram done.  Very easy stitch.

Flying Back To The Pig

On the same rainy day as the Mi Piace lunch, Andreas and I went to The Flying Pig for dinner.  We had our pots of tea,  an appetizer plate, some goulash (wonderful and a meal in itself), and sauerbraten and chicken.  We enjoy this place with its friendly, competent service and great food.  Did I mention that both the mustard and goulash were spicy?

Working Toward The Center

When I work on this, I truly feel progress because these parts are soooo much smaller than the last two which girdled the piece.  I  am right close to the center of the right side.

Bits Of Commerce

Some bits of commerce caught while wandering the old city.  We liked this restaurant that ripped off the Chili's logo, but they were more Asian than southwestern.  There were several bakeries with beautifully decorated cakes in their windows.  And the florists bedecked themselves in flowers.

Spouses At Mi Piace

On a cold and rainy day in May we had a spouses' luncheon at Mi Piace.  While it is a favorite with some of the embassy, we don't go because Andreas doesn't like it.  The place has a great view because it's in the corner of a park, but I find the food nothing special.  I don't have an active dislike of it as Andreas does, but I don't go out of my way to go there.

The cappucino I started with was very welcome because of the weather.  I then had carpaccio.  I had never had carpaccio before coming to Moldova, but now it''s one of my more favorite foods.  Then there was the berry chicken, which was also good, if a bit bready.  Maybe I can convince Andreas to try it again.

Bogged Down

I am feeling very bogged down with this, since I'm still on the first line of the third page.  I can see progress on the piece, but not on the page.

Cut Off

This has officially gotten too big for Andreas to take a photo of easily, so the bottom's cut off.  I still am doing some backstitching on the left, and I am pleased with the progress on the border.

Krakow's Central Square

These are the beginning of Andreas' photos from Krakow last October.  Since we're going back in three months, I thought it might be a good idea  to post these ones before we go again.  Krakow's central square is awesome.  It's full of people and life without being overcrowded.  The cloth hall sits in the middle and has been turned into a museum and market.  Very fun to wander around.

Velvet Cow Fur

The little bits of velvet for the border are still coming along.  Soon I can start on the banner across.

Just Across The Street

Not much to see in Iasi outside the mall, but we tried.  We crossed the street and found a locked church, then crossed back down the block and found two more churches.... at least they're pretty looking.

My First Richelieu

Last October, while we were in Krakow, I bought some Richelieu kits.  This is one of them.  It's a table runner, and it's going to be very hard  to photograph as it goes on.  It's also huge.  The stitching, though, is going faster than I thought it would.

Children At The Mall

Children playing last September around the mall grounds in Iasi.
