Time For Fondue

When on home leave, we go  to Simply Fondue once. We went this time with the excuse that we hadn't had an anniversary dinner. This was it. It was good, too, and they had lemondrop martinis on sale with it.

Heim's Barbecue, Fort Worth

This place is a millenial hang out in the Magnolia area of Fort Worth. It was packed. And it wasn't nearly as good as Railhead or Coopers. Major disappointment, because we'd been told by several people that it was excellent. It was also overpriced. Not a place we'd go back to.

Lucille's Lunch

One of our lunches in Fort Worth was at Lucille's. It doesn't hurt that it's next door to the needlepoint shop. So good flatbread and sandwiches before shopping.

Down To Cooper's

I love Cooper's prime rib. Unfortunately, they only sell it on certain days. We went one of those days before we left Fort Worth. The prime rib was great. The beef rib, not so much to my taste. But we both enjoyed our meals!

Fondue Fire

We had our (very) belated anniversary dinner at Simply Fondue in Sundance Square.  As these photos show, I do light my marshmallows on fire. Food was good, company was better.

Esperanza For Lunch Again

We did Esperanza's again before leaving Fort Worth, and I fajitas instead of caldo de res. Esperanza's is sooo good.

Color Changing Drink

Game Theory Bar has board games and color changing drinks! I had one. It was a novelty, but it tasted pretty good, too.

German In Fort Worth

Knowing how much Andreas likes German food, we went to Edelweiss. It's kind of like walking into the 1970's, Wurlitzer organ and all. The food was good, though, and plentiful. We enjoyed it.

Bad Ramen

Andreas wanted ramen. I wanted pho. We ended up going to Oni Ramen. The place was freezing cold! The duck buns were meh, but ended up being the best part. Andreas said his ramen wasn't very good, and my katsu chicken was downright awful.

Ol' South For Dinner

Fried pickles! And my first ever senior special. Ol' South has great food other than breakfast, so we had to experience some chicken fried steak.

My Bluebonnets

Yay, I was finally able to start one of the twelve of these! This one's got a good start on it, and I'm liking working on it.

Back To Ol' South

Since we are only in Texas every other year for a short time, we have to get our favorites in in bursts. So, back to Ol' South we went.

Cork And Pig Tavern

We decided to explore Crockett Street for dinner one evening and ended up at the Cork and Pig. Food was pretty good, but frightfully overpriced.

More Comfort Food

No trip home is complete without multiple trips to Joe T. Garcia's. It's sooooo good.
