Waving Along

I am now officially over halfway done on the second rectangle!  Now I have to decide next time I work on it if I am going to start on the third or just continue with the second until it's done.

Waving Along

Three more stripes done on the second rectangle, so it's almost half done.

Riding the Wave

I am getting on with the second rectangle.  Can't start a third until I've got the top row done, and I'm a bit over halfway to that.  Maybe I'll have the stitching done by the end of the year or earlier at this rate.  Only a bit more than two and a half more rectangles to go.

A Rectangle Done!

I finally finished the first of four rectangles!  I think it looks good, and the second one is well started.  Now to speed it up.

Thursday, May 06, 2010

The corner of the second rectangle is coming along pretty well; the pattern's emerging.  I'm also nearly done with the first rectangle.  The last line of dark diamonds is in place!

A Pattern Emerges

The second rectangle's pattern is hard to establish with a thread length - the gaps between are just too big.  So, now that I've added three colors to it, you can see the wave emerging.  I'm almost done with the first basketweave rectangle, too.

Caved In

I was not strong enough to resist starting another rectangle before finishing the first, so it's started.  This second one's going to be a lot more blue.  I don't have more than an inch left on the first rectangle.

Second Line Down

Real progress this week!  I finished the second line of the top border.  Now to decide if I start a second rectangle or work this one to completion first.  Thoughts?

Still Striping

Only one more color to go on the second stripe.  I got the turquoise finished this week and worked more on the rectangle underneath.  I think that one's looking pretty neat, myself, even though the colors aren't what I would normally like.

Finished Ornamentally

As you know if you read my One World One Heart post, this ornament is going to go somewhere after I draw the name on the fifteenth.  Trying to be prepared, I finished the ornament this past week.  The canvas and directions had come with a "Flying Needles Finishing Form" from Dallas, Texas.  I had never used one before, and it was not what I was expecting.  The package said it was easier to use than doing it yourself.  I found it harder, actually, following their instructions.  The only step it saved was cutting out the round forms from mat board.  The rest was the same, and a bit harder because of the hollow of the forms.  On top of that, they were not exactly the same size, so they were harder to stitch together.

This wasn't a product I'd buy on my own.  I'd never heard of it before using it this time.  I wonder if anyone's had any better experience with it.

Still on the Second Row

I've still got some work to do on the second row, but I should be able to finish it up next week, I hope.  Then it'll be all rectangles!

Bargello Done

Yes, I posted that I had finished this in my One World One Heart post on the 25th of January, but it wasn't stitchy.  So this is the real finish post.  I worked it beyond the markings so I'd not have any blank areas once I mounted it.  Today is the big mounting day using a way I've never done before - a premade metal form.  Wish me luck!

Rounding It Out

Yes, I know, there's a picture of this finished in the OWOH post.  Here is where I was on it last Saturday afternoon.  As you can see, I just decided it had to be finished, so I did.  Now to put it into ornament form real soon.

Bagging It

And here's the Bargello Medley from TGOSM again.  Progress, but I'm still not done with the second band.  On the other hand, the first rectangle is filling in nicely.

A Quick Stitch

I only started this toward the end of December, but I'm already mostly done.  It's only got the outer outline to go.  I just have to decide if I want it in variegated blue or in purple.

Got to the End

This week, I got to the end of the second stripe.  Now to fill it in.  Also finished the second row of the pattern on the first rectangle.

More of the second line done - it's almost done.  And I got another line of the first rectangle done, too.

Replacing the Compass

I decided to start a quick and easy stitch once the compass finished. It's a Four Way Bargello Ornament by Barbara Hayden. This is just one day's stittching. As you can see, it'll be done in next to no time! I just needed something quick.

Nothing Really New

I've made progress in both the second line and the first rectangle, but they're both just repeating the patterns already there. So, not much new to talk about.

One Weave Done

Well, I accomplished one weave and made progress on the second downward on the first rectangle panel. The second band got some progress, too.
