More Flowers

More roses from the American Rose Center.

Challenge Finish

I finished a non-temari!  This was the first of three ornaments I hope to finish this month, and is Teresa Wentzler's Beginner Whitework Ornament.  It was started in January as part of my January challenge, but I'd only completed the center.  Now I can cross off two bits of challenges, since it's done.  I do like these colors, even if they're not white and not Christmas.  I'd do this ornament again, maybe even in white.

Some Artistic Flowers

Somehow, Andreas manages to make the most mundane photos interesting with his camera.  Of course, these flowers aren't mundane, but he certainly brings out their best.

Squiggles On The Bottom

I'm on the bottom third of this pattern now.  There are only a few more things to do in the central mandala before finishing off the bottom squiggles.

A Rose And a Lobelia

More photos from the American Rose Center.  There's a reason there are no pictures of masses of roses in bloom: there weren't any.  It was hard finding roses to take pictures of, but the ones Andreas did get turned out really well.

I Like This Ball

This was my first attempt at making this design.  The colors work really well together, and I like the way the eggshell MaxiLock thread base glows a little bit in person.  It just adds some class to it.

Monjuni's

Every time we're in Shreveport, Andreas insists we eat at least once at Monjuni's so he can get his salad.  Andreas is -not- a real salad eater.  Lettuce is not part of his food vocabulary.  This salad is, though, because it's full of smoked meats and olives and cheese and very, very light on lettuce.  His salad is the third picture in this post.

His parents had lasagne (top) and sausage spaghetti (below).  I find the sauce at Monjuni's very sweet, and while I love dipping garlic bread in it, it's not something I'd want on my pasta.  So I got the chicken sandwich (bottom picture).  It was flavorful and very, very filling.  I didn't finish it.  The bread crust was crisp, and the breading on the chicken was not soggy.  It was just huge.
