Mercedes Extravaganza

On our Sunday in Frankfurt, we went to the last day of the auto show.  This auto show is housed in over a dozen buildings and is impossible to see completely in one day.  The place was packed, too!  I had gotten a new point and shoot camera the day before and we wanted to play around with the video option, so Andreas took these videos while we were watching the Mercedes show.  Mercedes had a whole four story building to itself at this show.  Its display was huuuuuge.  Even if you're not particularly a car aficionado, going to an auto show can get you really excited.

Nearly To The Trunk

Going to have to stitch some border soon, but it's almost to the point of adding the top of the trunk.

Starting The Second

It's time for a patchwork pumpkin.

Haribo Store Window

What you can do with Haribo!  The store also has a lot of very unusual flavors of gummi bears inside.

A Small Ornamental Start

This is the beginning of one of Mill Hill's current crop of Christmas ornaments.  Royal Capri is its name.  The piece is already as wide as it will get.  It should be pretty easy to complete.

More Leaves

A little bit more outlining done.  I think the contrast is looking pretty good, if a bit nontraditional.

First German Meal In frankfurt

We took an early Saturday morning flight to Frankfurt, checking in to the hotel by ten and wandering downtown.  While downtown, we went to lunch at a little restaurant on top of one of the markets.  It was an old restaurant with a small menu and a clientele of elderly who lived in the area.  Andreas had sausages and I had one of the blue plate specials.  Mine was a beef broth soup, salad, sauerbraten with dumplings, and chocolate pudding.  Together, the meals were under 20 euros.  This low price downtown was probably the reason for the high elderly population.
