Murano Glass

I got this earrings and necklace set in Vienna while we were there.  While I love the glass and will wear the necklace often, the earrings are a total waste.  They are so thick and heavy that they always look like they're falling out of my ears.

Brown Buildings

There's a -lot- of brown in this piece and I'm in the middle of a brown streak.  I can't complain too much, though, as I'm making progress on the -last side- of this mandala.  I've been stitching on this for as long as I've had this blog.

Museum Drinks

After wandering around most of the Natural History museum in Venice, we decided to take a short break in the restaurant.  It was a lovely place to relax.  I had a cappucino and Andreas had a strawberry lemonade fizz thing.  The cappucino was as good as you'd expect in Vienna, which is amazing, and it refreshed us to get us on our way.

Moody Gardens Aquarium

On Christmas Eve, we went to Moody Gardens, an entertainment and hotel complex in Galveston.  They have pyramids with different themes.  All these photos were from the aquarium pyramid.  The place is as large as the Boston aquarium, but not as big as the one in Chattanooga.  There are several places to sit and watch the fish, and on the day we went it wasn't overrun with children.  I'm sure that changes in the summer.

Getting To The Inside

I'm working in toward the middle of the inner garden.  Since I've started working on this as a "try to daily" project, it's been coming along so much more quickly.  Isn't it odd how that works?

Creeping Along

\
I'm creeping across the top to make the edge.  It's over the first page and working on the second .. of five.

Hibachi!

Every time we're in the US, I require hibachi once.  This time, we went to Misaki in Knoxville, Tennessee.  Luckily for us, we go for the food and not the preparation show.  Our "chef" was very new to the whole prep bit and it showed.  On the other hand, the food was great.  Miso soup and an order of veggie tempura started things off.  Then it was on to the salad and watching the cook cook.  He missed a lot, but the food was still awesome.  It was, of course, far too much to eat, but we took some back to the hotel for lunch the next day at the cabin.
