Hole In The Middle

There's a hole in the middle of the stitching for the baseball.  I just haven't gotten to those colors yet.  It's coming along pretty quickly.

Nearing The Top

That dome is getting so close to being finished!  There are flowers on the left too, now.  They're coming along.

Thank You Fireside Stitchery!

A few weeks ago Matt from Fireside Stitchery emailed me to tell me I'd won a contest.  I didn't even know I'd entered!  Anyway, we emailed back and forth a little bit and it turned out I had entered by buying things from their weekend e-sales.  There have been some good bargains there and I picked some up.  My prize came in the mail a couple of weeks ago - all these bags of sequins.  Now I get to figure out how to use them.

Fiddly Bits

I have been so close to finishing off the top two pages of this design for so long, but keep getting hung up on little bits of color.  There are all these tiny pockets of places that have a couple or three stitches on the top pages then move down into the lower pages.  At least I'm getting a head start on the lower pages, right?

The Benefit Of Daily Stitching

It feels good to see so much progress on this piece.  I'm getting a lot more done as I work on it just about daily.  The backstitching at the bottom gets one length of thread daily and the cross stitch on the side, two.  I am hoping to have this done now by the end of the year so I can frame it at MolDeco before I leave.  Still three more parts to go - all edging - and a lot of beads to put on, but it's my goal.

Romanian Point Lace

There is a lady at the art park who sells Romanian point lace.  She has a wide selection and it's pretty obviously handmade, unlike a lot of the big crochet pieces at the park.  I was down at the park with a few other people and saw this.  I paid less than $8 for it.  It's pretty and I will be getting more and bigger pieces before we leave the country.

Verse Done

The verse is done!  Only a few more small bands.  Yay!
