Gifts From MolDeco

MolDeco surprised us with these gifts when we went in between the two Christmases.  The wine bottle is special because the artist who did the label only works in wine and coffee as paints.  Lovely calendar and bookmarks, too!  Thanks, MolDeco!

Going For The Head

The left gargoyle's head is coming along well, now.  Each time I do this it comes more alive.

Romanian National Ribbon

It was so refreshing to see a European country proud of itself as Romania is on National Day.  They had people handing out flags and selling medallions.  I bought one of the latter.

Crazy January Start #8: Rousseau

This is one of the artists series by Kick Back and Stitch. If you follow the blog lately, this part looks very familiar.  I like these because they're quick and cute.  Maybe I can get this one done soon.

Gift From Rogeses

The Rogers family found this beautiful necklace from Estonia and earrings from here in Moldova for my Christmas present.  Thank you!

Romanian National Day

Cluj-Napoca has been part of Romania for less than a hundred years.  The costumed people in these top photos are re-enacting a event that took place at the end of the 19th century, where people protested to break from the Austro-Hungarian empire.  Going through this part of Romania, you see signs in both German and Hungarian, depending on the city or village.  It's an interesting history of empires going back and forth.  The people of Cluj are happy to be part of Romania now, as shown by the large Romanian flags on the buildings.  December first is Romanian National Day, the day the king and queen re-entered Bucharest to reclaim Romania after the first World War.

Crazy January Start #7: Sunflowers

Another start, this one a small Lizzie Kate kit.  It'll go into my rotation when I need something small.
