Banded Up

The blackwork band sampler from EGA is done.  I think it came out as a perfect bookmark and will be making it into one soon.

Reunion Dinner

After going to the Maryland Renaissance Fair, we had dinner with the Perez-Milams and my son.  It was a good time to catch up.  Our dinner was at La Sandia in Tyson's Corner Mall.  Was also kind of interesting to watch all the high school students dressed up for homecoming.  The food wasn't TexMex, but it was pretty good anyway.  I had shredded beef tacos and Andreas had chicken ones.

This Year's Favor

Despite being in Angola less than three weeks, we went to the annual Marine Corps Ball.  These are the favors from it.  Practical!  This ball was very different from most I've been to in two ways: one was that the food was served buffet style.  Evidently wait service isn't very good for large groups here.  The second way was that there were a LOT of non-embassy associated Americans, including a whole table of teenage girls.  Made for an interesting night.

Looking More Substantial

This piece has a lot more weight to it as I fill in the tubes.  I've been working on it daily, making more tubes and backfilling from the top.  Looks like I still have a lot to go, though.

Finished Swirl

I finished up my woven ribbons.  I think it came out pretty well!  No idea when I will make it into something though, since I don't have MolDeco close by.

Looking More Photogenic

I usually don't look at this at a distance, so I hadn't realized how much this is beginning to look like a real picture.  Makes me feel better about working on it.

TGIF By Georgetown U

We had a four in the afternoon date with a bus (ugh!) and no where to waste time, so we went to TGIFriday's in Foggy Bottom.  Our order was not right - the appetizers came much later than the main course- but when it came, it tasted okay.  As usual for American restaurants, the portions were way too big.
