Back To Brown, Again

At this point, it looks like I'm making no progress. It's disheartening, but I know that every stitch done is another stitch closer to finishing. This time it was browns. I got more of the dress done.

Small Heart

This small heart has been done for quite a while. Now it's framed, too.

Carol And Chad

We kept the little life changers. The brown one is Chad and the black and white Carol. Although they come from the same litter, they are not at all like siblings. Except they care about each other. Grayson cares about them, too, and six months later is still fascinated by them.

Starting Over

The fabric I had started this on was too small, so when I added it to the rotation a couple of weeks ago, I started over.

Goblin Games

We were looking for a (somewhat) local game shop we could support. Unfortunately, the only game shop in Skopje is not it. We were disappointed with Goblin Games the minute we walked in on a Saturday afternoon and the shopkeeper kept talking football with his friend instead of engaging with us. One of us even understands Serbian, so the language barrier would have been minimal. Instead, we spent fifteen minutes wandering around the tiny shop, looking at the Yugi-Oh! tournament and at the MTG tournament on the television. We eventually bought a puzzle more out of pity than anything else. At no point did anyone in the store engage with us. No one. This is how game stores die. Even ones with a Balkans monopoly. It doesn't take long to say hello. Or Zdravo. Or anything else. And it can result in a lot of sales.

Clockwork Bird Done

So much backstitching on this bird, but it came out pretty neat. Definitely a keeper.

Life Changers

On August 10th last year, I took Grayson on a walk. A tiny black and white blur came barreling toward us, from nearly 200 meters away. I thought surely there would be an owner coming after. There wasn't. She ran right to Grayson and he comforted her. I picked her up and we went back home. Gave the tiny puppy to Andreas and continued our walk. About halfway through, one of the neighbor kids told me of her brother under a hedge. Grayson got the brother out and comforted him, too. We walked back home with another puppy. We were sure we'd get them adopted, but Grayson latched on to the puppies like he was their father. Completely changed his behavior and became more responsible overnight, despite being only seven months old himself. So now we have four dogs. And two dog sitters.
