Went to Spring Creek with Andreas for barbecue on his second day here. I had a brisket sandwich and Andreas went for a sausage sandwich and a baked potato.
Since they were here, I decided to put some of the beautiful Indian rugs on the floor at the tiny duplex we rented. The rugs are beautiful and feel great. They're also holding up to Mattie being on them a lot. They are definitely going with us to Kosovo to be put on the floors there.
Picked this up at Cabbage Rose while stopping in for some black fabric - with Andreas. What was I thinking to let him in there? We did get the black fabric - and a lot more. The owls will be made from stash, and I am so hoping for some free time when we move in.
I found this kit at the quilt show in Arlington last month and decided it was my splurge. I can't wait to start it, but I've got so much to do with moving right now.
This is what I bought the consitution fabric for. Now I have everything else for it and am ready to stitch. I will also try to redo the Lady of the Flag on this kind of fabric too.
When I went to the quilt show, I bought this applique quilt kit. The best part is all the pieces are cut and on sticky paper, so they'll stay in place as I applique them!
The top wing of the rightmost bottom butterfly is done! And more sky and butterflies overall. This is currently my daily project, so I hope there will be a lot more progress next week.
We stopped at the side of the road to capture the view. This is the Rio Grande river in New Mexico. It winds close to the road from Santa Fe to Taos. The weather wasn't that hot, and the hills were dotted with color.
We drove from Santa Fe to Taos and back one day last month, and I took photos of some of the landscape. It was surprisingly green for August. This was very close to the Rio Grande river though.
