Cafe Del Mar
A couple of Friday nights ago we went to Cafe Del Mar, a restaurant on the Ilha in Luanda. Not only are they a restaurant, they will serve you at a beach chair during the day so you can watch the waves on the beach. The water, unfortunately, is not good enough to swim in. The service was impeccable and the food was pretty good. Andreas had a pasta dish, and I had picanha. As usual, Angolans cut and cook it waaay too thin. The fried banana was tasty and my caprianha was very good. Overall it was a pleasant evening by the ocean waves.

Sculpey Bowl
I am working through my For The Makers kits as part of my finishing off/cleaning out spree. This was one of the projects - a sculpey bowl. It didn't take long to make and came out pretty well as a jewelry bowl. I already have enough of these, so, while I learned something new, the product is going in the "for charity" pile.

Afghan For A Child
I made my first mandala afghan, Sophie's Garden, for the daughter of friends of mine. She likes bright colors! I think it came out pretty well, but it does still need to be blocked. No where to do that here safely, so it will wait until I get to Fort Worth. Once it's blocked, it'll get mailed to Vienna.

Lunch At A Pub
We went to the mall again on our last full day and had lunch. This pub was so much more quiet at lunch time! We had drinks and appetizers and over ordered again. Andreas couldn't resist the idea of mac and cheese fries. I had popcorn chicken, which was a meal in itself. My mushroom burger had too much spice, but the onion rings were good. Andreas had chicken lollipops and a chicken sandwich. By this time, we were missing beef.

Over Ordering At Pali Bhavan
It was our penultimate night in town and Andreas still hadn't gone to Pali Bhavan, so I took him. We ordered way too much food because we wanted to taste so many different things. They were all very good. I especially liked the stuffed mushrooms. Everything was spicy without going over the edge to "so hot you can't taste what it is." The decor is steampunky, too!
