For....

I am making a bit of progress on this.  i like the way it looks, too!

Our Street

Ever since June, contractors have been laying water and sewage lines up and down our street.  It got particularly bad for us getting in and out of the driveway in the past month or so.  Here are some photos taken one day as we left last month.  Sometimes it's good to be leaving home.

Cross Stitches Done And A Problem

Soo.... I finished all the cross stitches on this and am ready to start in on the backstitching, including the borders.  The problem?  I've misplaced it.  It's either at the office or at home somewhere.  I'm not in either place until January, so it's going to sit for a while.

Birthday Dinner

We were home for only four days between two trips, and one of those days was my birthday.  Andreas took me out to Seasons that evening for dinner.  I had a Long Island iced tea as my drink.  It was done up all frou frou.  Andreas had his usual Greek salad and a club sandwich.  I had zeama and beef salad.  All were very good and served attentively.  Seasons is one of the few dependably quality places, day in and day out, in Chisinau.

Working In The Salt Mine....

There are two different tours of the famous salt mines of Krakow.  One tour goes through all the beautiful, lit galleries and past the hospital.  The other is the "miner's tour."  In this tour, you are put to work as an apprentice miner.  This includes dressing you up in miner's gear, including an oxygen generator, headlamp, and coveralls.  Most of the tour is lit only by headlamps.  It's small groups, too.  Andreas and I were the only ones in our group!  This contrasts with the couple hundred per group of the tourist route. We mined the salt above and were allowed to take it home.  The photo below is the only one I was able to take of the tour because my camera wasn't charged.

If you like a bit of adventure and a bit of climbing and work, I recommend the miners' tour to you.  It was a great experience and taught us a lot about mining!

On The Square

While waiting for our appointment time to get in the Krakow archaeological museum, we enjoyed people watching and drinking warm on the square.  Andreas had a hot chocolate and I had my usual cappucino.

Down To The Borders

The whole middle design is done, and it's time to work on the borders.  This is going to be done soon.  Yay!
