Another Country, Another Bit Of Stash

It seems I'm able to find some kind of stitching shop everywhere we go.  In Krakow, it was a little hole in the wall that had a variety of items.  I bought... the stuff above plus the richelieu kit I shared with you earlier.

First Dinner In Krakow

Our apartment in Krakow was only two blocks off the main old square.  We at at Chopin, right on the square, the first evening.  The food was good, but the chicken soup wasn't Moldovan zeama!  There was no sour to it.  I was disappointed.  We had a selection of Polish cheeses, which tasted kind of meh and bland to me, and I had fried chicken.  Andreas had a bit more adventurous dish that I've forgotten the name of.  the food was slightly overpriced, but I think it was to pay for the fancy dinnerware and the classical music ipod playing in the background.

Close To Two

I'm close to having two of the letters all stitched but beads.  There's still some to do inside the O.  All that lattice around the O took a looooong time.

Great Find

I found this book of embroidery designs at the mall bookstore in Krakow.  It's got a whole bunch of surface embroidery and Richilieu designs.  I can't wait to start.

A Decision

I've decided to put this aside for now; I'm beginning to resent it, and stitching isn't supposed to be punishment!  So it's in my started-to-do-later cubby.  I think it's a combination of the way the lines are hard to see and that I'm not good at it.

Big Dinner At Grill House

Our Friday dinners out have grown.  This dinner is an example- we had over twenty people.  We called Grill House in advance, and they had a table set up for us.  The food was good and we all had a great time.  I had carpaccio and shashlik.  The plated foods are from various people.  As it was all taken on my (old) cell phone the pictures didn't turn out great.

Old Fashioned Find

We found a stationary set at Collegium Maius in Krakow.  It's such an unusual thing to find!  The printing's also beautiful.
