Country Garden Sprouted

This is the block I sent out for my country garden round robin.  The center is the crewelwork pansy I made last year.  On the bottom is what the ladies did to it.  I think it came out pretty spiffy, don't you?  One of my goals for this year is to use more of my embroidery in larger finished pieces.

Bit Of Roof

A little more roof done, and I'm less than twenty rows from turning to the next page.  Yay!

Blending Inside And Outside

A lot of these photos show how the Utah Beach museum blends  the indoor environment with the one through the windows.  It adds dimension to the place.

A Cross Stitched Band

I've started a cross stitched band.  Since it's a bit larger, it'll take a little more time to do.

Peeking Domes

The outlines of domes are appearing in this part.  The stitching is pretty easy; there are large blocks of color.

More Utah Beach Museum - Looking In Looking Out

Utah Beach tells its story through both individuals and items.  It also speaks through location.  All the windows look out onto the beach.  There is a part of a room devoted to the author of "The Little Prince," who died earlier in WWII.  The light, the space, the sterility of it all is a sharp contrast to what actually happened on the beach seventy years ago, but it matches the look of the beach now.

Filling In

I have just been filling in the bits and pieces of flower and background and feathers.  It doesn't look much different from last time; merely more substantial.
