Stuff In Soroca

It's a sniffer dog!  The customs service of Moldova had several dogs out to pet.  The weather was warm and these dogs are sooo patient.  There was a festival in Soroca  to reopen the fortress.  The place was packed, except no one could get into the fortress because the politicians were hogging it.

Onto The Third Layer

The second leaf has only a layer and a half to go.  Stitching this full sized on 40 count instead of 28 count has made it much more slower going.

Inside The Structure

The eternal flame is for local unknowns who fell in WWII.  There was only one very short campaign in Moldova.  The Soviets had an offensive from Tiraspol to Iasi at the very end of the war.  It's when Moldova was incorporated into the Soviet Union.  The quotes were originally only in Russian; newer ones have been added in Romanian in the past couple of decades.

Colorng It Up

I have been unable to work much on this, but there's a new color on the bird.

Long Shots

Photos across the distances of the complex.  This top photo is of the VIP entrance.  It's less impressive than the main one.

One Day...

Maybe one day in the future I'll be done adding gray to the edge of the peach house; today is not that day.

Heroes of 1992

This is the memorial to the Transnistrian war.  It's much different in feel from the Soviet ones.  There's also a religious element to it that would be missing from the others.
