It seems every time we visit Texas we do some kind of wine tasting with Mom. This time it was at Grand Cru, a wine bar in Fort Worth. There was a full presentation by a wine rep and food to match. While I appreciated the escargot and the beef burgignon, I was not impressed by the wines. It may be that I lived in Moldova too long, but the wines seemed overpriced and underperforming. Even the ones costing over a hundred dollars didn't do much for me. The meal, by the way, was advertised as truly French. The only part they nailed on that was the beef. Overall, disappointing.

Hibachi Lunch
One thing I do on every home leave is eat hibachi. To satisfy that demand, we went to Edohana in Fort Worth for lunch. We got an abbreviated show for just the two of us, and a huge mound of food. Strangely enough, they didn't tempura lettuce leaves like they do in Moldova. The food was good and hot and just what we needed.
