Bowled Over

My boss and her family went for a long weekend in Romania in August.  We watched their cute little King Charles Cavalier, Harry.  As you can see below, Harry's a bit smaller than Mattie.  Mattie and Harry got along fine, and they gave us this pretty wooden bowl as thanks.

Band Six Done

I'm done with band six.  This is the second biggest band in the sampler.  The piece is coming together well, I think.

While Waiting In A Gazebo....

How better to wait for someone than to enjoy a cappucino in a gauzy gazebo in the park?  That's exactly what Andreas and I did while we waited for his parents to finish a walking tour.  I had a cappucino; Andreas had a milk shake.  We also shared a bruschetta because the wait people were a bit put out by our very small order in a prime place.  Some of the bruschetta (the tomato and the parma ham ones) were very good.  The rest ... not to our taste.

Good Ebay Find

Andreas found this lot of DMC pearl cotton on ebay for me.  He paid less than half price, and I go through a lot of pearl cotton making temari.  Thanks, dear.

The Eagle Has Started

I managed to work a little on Checkered Liberty this week as I was in Krakow.

Summer Lunch At Star Pizza

Virgin and alcoholic mojitos of somewhat good quality, pizza, fries and (somewhat odd) sandwiches out in city park in Odessa on a sunny summer Saturday afternoon.  Not a bad way to spend time.

Fabric Indulgence

While looking for Thai food in Frankfurt, we came across a fabric shop.  Don't you hate it when that happens?  We went in, of course, and I found these two pieces in the remnants bin.  They're both wonderful feeling and about a meter each.
