I got the pieces onto their backing this week and started the stem stitches. As usual with crewel, it goes pretty quickly once it's started. I think it will look good when done.

Hi Pierrette - It's the Fair Maiden Sewing Purse from the cover of the latest issue of Sampler and Antique Needlework Quarterly. I think it'd be easy to work in one piece, but the designer made it three pieces - and since this is my first time making the design, I'm following her instructions.
