So I'm still working on this over one, and it's going okay. The big thing is clipping ends and stopping and starting so the colors don't show through the back. It's especially important with the red and dark green. A lesson in being careful!

I should love to be able to do such neat work. How do you end the threads so neatly without pulling the work at the front?

hi Fay-
I stitch the crosses more like a continental stitch, using more thread behind the piece. This stabilizes the threads and prevents them from pulling over accidentally. Then I just end the thread like normal on the back - pulling it through a bit already stitched and clipping it close.
