A week ago, my Mattie the Sharrvelous had hip surgery. She had what is called an FHO because she had severe hip dysplasia. As you can see, they made her ugly for a bit! She looks really funny with all that area hairless. It's even more starkly disconcerting in person.
Mattie's healing well and is putting a little weight on her leg. Hopefully, she'll be terrorizing deer again soon.

Awwww... poor puppy! I hope she heals well and fast.
Luckily for me, she's a Sharr, which means she heals a lot faster than normal dogs. She's getting around and, though she still hasn't made it up the stairs, she did get on the couch by herself last night. She's also not turning down car rides. I'm hoping by next week I'll be able to walk her farther distances to build up her muscles.
