Thought There Was More To Do

I had been carrying this in my purse as a take out project when needed, but I had already finished it. So it's turning into an ornament.

Portals and Plinths

Wandering around and seeing things to photograph. More sanctuary and the abbot's quarters included.

Living Quarters

Living quarters for the monks, a refectory, and a well. It's hard to believe these photos were taken in January.

Monastery Ruins

Dawn in front of one of the main arches and for the rest, I walked through and took random photos. Most of these are within 50 feet of each other.

Another Little Snowflake

The colors in person aren't nearly as dreary as in the photo. Time to finish it into an ornament, though.

More Ruins of Rivaulx

Rievaulx was one of the monasteries trashed in the reign of Henry the 8th. It's in Yorkshire and was rediscovered by the local baron in the 1800's. Most of the place was dismantled, yet the whole outline is there.

A Little Armadillo

My armadillo star is stitched up. Next set of starts, time to start another star.

Bits of Rivaulx

Dawn told us about this beautiful ruined monastery; the boys were in school; so the three of us went to see it on a decent January day. Rivaulx is just outside York, and you can see how magnificent it looks in the late afternoon light.
