All Seeded

Sunflower Seeds is done. Every day I wonder what happened to the little old lady from Mariupul. I hope she made it out safely.

Gifts from Kerrie

Kerrie had to go to Kyiv for work in November, and while there she picked up these gifts for us.  Andreas has become a collector of many things Ukraine in this war.

Bayraktar

Andreas being Andreas and deeply invested in all things Ukraine, had to get a bayraktar model. As soon as it arrived, he built it. Here's a song for it, too: Bayraktar Song.

Finally back to working on this kit I bought in Ukraine. It's a cute ram and will be done soon.

Support the (Ukrainian) Troops

I bought these beautiful things at one of the support the Ukrainian troops booths in Odessa.  People are doing all they can to get more money to their soldiers for equipment.

Coopers Burgers

Okay, so the menu was completely in Ukrainian, but the wait staff spoke English and the burgers were divine - and huge.  On top of that, Cooper's in Odessa gets the award for best doggie bag ever.

Italian At Limoncello

Finally alone for a meal in Odessa, we opted to go simple at a terrace just a block from the hotel.  The name of the place is Limoncello, and it was a very nice evening out, with the exception of a clueless waitress.  Andreas had flavored iced tea and I had wine.  We shared a very generous meat and cheese platter and then each had a pizza.  Our pizzas were small, which we hoped for, but heavily topped with our ingredients of choice.  They were very well made and delicious.  The major disappointment was the soup, which came out half an hour after the pizza.  Sigh.

World's Worst "Hamburger"

We bought burgers out of a stand in the market area of Deribaskaya Street in Odessa.  What a mistake!  They were sliced processed pork products similar to Spam that were fried up and put on a bun.  Disgusting!

Buffalo Breakfast

Sometimes you wonder why things are constructed or not.  On their second attempt, Buffalo 99 got my order right but deconstructed.  It was supposed to be a bacon, cheese and mushroom croissant.  Andreas' hamburger like food was totally constructed, though!

One Last Steakhouse Visit

Our final visit to Steakhouse was disappointing, mainly because the waitress was not very good.  She got much of the order wrong and did not follow up on anything.  The restaurant wasn't even that busy.  We also had Kerry's parents along, so we didn't want to bring it to a lot of attention.  I wish they had better service that night.  It didn't help that it took nearly two hours to just get the entrees.

Odessa One Last Time

Over the week of July 4th we went to Odessa one last time, this time with Kerry's parents.  The first place we ate at was Gyoza.  It was still very good, but raspberry season instead of strawberry.  I even had sushi I liked - made with fruit instead of fish.
