Start to Finish in 2010

Finally, a picture of my completed Winter White!  I finished it before the end of 2010, so I did it all in less than a year.  Really fast stitching for me.  I liked stitching it, and I love the way it looks.  Now to get it framed...

Covered in White

Yay, I actually finished the project I started January 1st of this year!  It's gorgeous too, with beads and a lot of Rhodes stitches.  I liked doing this project and keeping to the schedule I set for it.

Specializing

Still working on the specialty stitches for this; I think I can make it.

A Hope

I started Winter White on the first of this year.  My hope is to finish it by the end of the year.  I'm getting close, since I'm halfway done with the special stitches, and after that there's only beading.  Maybe I can do it in the next few weeks.

Still Coming Down

I'm about halfway through the huge number of queen stitches that need to be done on the left and am completely done with the big top center motif.  Slowly, it's getting there.

Diamond Fill

I finished the top diamond motif this week and started some more down the sides with Rhodes stitches.

Started the Satin

I started some satin stitches this week.  It's going pretty quickly because they're large stitches.  The special stitches are going to go sooo much more quickly than the regular cross stitches.  After this, it's just beading.  I'm feeling more hopeful about it being done before the end of the year now.

Done with the Crosses

Yay!  I've started the specialty stitches.  As promised, I finished the cross stitches last time and have now started doing the special stitches, starting at the top.  There are a -lot- of them, but they'll make the piece stand out even more.  Once I'm done with that, there's a scattering of beads to place, too.  It's well on its way to completion.  Maybe, since it was my New Year's start, I'll actually finish it in the year I started.

Next Time

Next time I work on this, I'm going to finish all the cross stitches.  Yay!  I still love the colors on this and look forward to starting the specialty stitches, even though I'm not fond of queen stitches.  There are a lot of those.

Close

I don't know why this particular picture turned out more turquoise, but it did.  Anyway... I'm on the bottom motifs of the piece!  It's close.

Near the Bottom

I am almost done with the sides outlining!  The last inward part will start the bottom.  That means I'm getting somewhat close to being done on all the cross stitching and can start the special stitches soon.

Nearly to the Bottom

I have made significant progress on this piece!  The cross stitching is almost to the bottom, but after I do that, there's a lot of specialty stitching to do on it.  I do like the lacy effect of everything so far, though.

More than Halfway

I am now officially past the halfway point on the cross stitches for this.  Yay!  It means I'm making progress, and I feel like I might be able to finish the whole thing by September.

Snowflakes

The center motifs resemble snowflakes to me.  I'm almost halfway done with the cross stitches, too!

Still Crossing

I haven't broken down and done any of the specialty stitches yet.  The skeleton for them out of cross stitches is coming along pretty well, at least.

Still Crossing Down

I've resisted doing aught but cross stitches again, and I am getting a bit farther along.  Now to find more time to stitch.

More Winter in Summer

I've decided to do all the cross stitching before I go on to the specialty stitches.  I might change my mind later, but this week I did some of the inner outlines.

New Year, New Start

This year, I decided to join the crowd and start something new with the new year.  I'd bought this project, Winter White by Indigo Rose, from Stitches and Spice during the Online Retail Needlework Show.  It was calling to me.  So I started it on the first.  My rotation's temporarily a bit larger, but I'm glad I did it.
