Merrily Merrily Finishing We Go

The deputy chief of mission and the CLO assistant picked this ornament for me to finish for a silent auction.  So I finished it and it's now being bid on.  I think it came out pretty well.  The design is by Barbara Jackson.

For The CLO

I was asked to make a temari for the community liaison office to auction off silently.  The proceeds will be used to fund events for the embassy community next year.

Auction Ornament Two

This is the second ornament for the auction.  Both of these were from my crazy January starts, and now they're completely finished!

CyberStitchers is making an ornament tree for the EGA auction in November.  This is one of two I sent off last week for it.

Watch Me

Andreas won this watch for me at the silent auction part of the Bagels and Jam 5k.  It was child sized, so he added a couple of inches to the back so I can wear it.

For Charity

I discovered how hard it is to keep a block from going out of control with color with this block.  Since the Moldovan flag is the three primary colors, I had to use them as the base fabric.  From there, I added things significant to Moldova while trying not to overwhelm things.  The block was done for a charity quilt for Crazy Quilting International.

I Don't Know Why....

I won this pair of pants at the Hospice Angelus ball last month.  I'm still trying to figure out why they put them in a random draw.  They're fitted and a specific size that's really hard to fit (tall and very skinny).  I mean, they're cute and I'm sure the artist put a lot of effort into them, but ... really?  Did they expect people to magically get the right one to fit?  Thhere were a lot of problems like this at the ball this year.

Anyway, they're off to someone I hope will fit into them.

Patriotic Weave

My collection for Hospice Angelus is growing.  Here, a woven rose design.  I think it came out pretty good.

Being Sherlock

We (again) won the Hospice Angelus Moldova Be Sherlock event at Bastion restaurant just a week before we went on home leave.  Here are photos of some of the food (it was delicious) and decoration (dead raven)   The theme was Bran's Castle in Romania.  We had a lot of fun and hope to participate in the next one!  If you want to see photos that are of people and better, click here,  It's in Romanian, and we're told we're British in it, but that's what you get for being with the British ambassador.
