Checkpoint Charlie

Doesn't look so intimidating now, but this is Checkpoint Charlie on a rainy Berlin day.

 

Roadside Lunch

We decided to stop at a full service truck stop on the autobahn instead of the regular rest stops. It even had a REAL restaurant. So we ate real food. It was healthier. And the last pic is snacks from the Bonn hotel.

We had a nice river view and the time was relaxing. Didn't get to really explore.

 

Overnight at the Airport

Picking up friends who flew in and watching the planes go by at the Cologne-Bonn airport.

This one has some stuff I am already using in it. I really buy these for the pens, paper clips, and stationery paper.

Consular had a white elephant and I was out of tea!

 

Another Better Meal

This was lunch at a little Asian place not far from the hotel in Berlin. Tasted good on a chilly, rainy day.

A mini mystery box with some nice things. Plus a meadow tote that I love.

 

Awful Italian Food

We couldn't find anywhere open to eat on the Sunday we were in Berlin. In desperation, we went into Calice D'Oro. Big mistake. This was the blandest and saddest Italian meal I have ever had. Service was awful, too. We relearned the lesson not to go to restaurants on tourist streets.

 

The Wall

Can't go to Berlin without seeing the wall, or what's left of it. The red lines in the pics are where the wall used to be. The rest - well, it's a wall.

 

Japan in Poland

There's a Japan store in Warsaw that even delivers. And Andreas has had pretty big ramen cravings lately. So he ordered. He likes. And he's figuring out which ones he can make in his hotel room in Kyiv. He was also impressed with the origami note.
