Boardwalk And Butterflies

Destin's beaches are so white, and the water so green.  Andreas and I took a walk along the boardwalk and found some butterflies, too.  I wish there was something like that here in Angola.

Lunch With Florine

Saint took care of all three children while we took Florine to lunch at a local Japanese restaurant.  The food was generous, tasty, and well served in bento boxes.

Dinner Out With Saint And Florine

When we went to Destin, we stayed with our friends Saint and Florine.  Partially in gratitude and partially to have a nice night out, we took them to the Beach House restaurant.  It's right on the beach, and we were seated on the back porch.  The sunset view was lovely, as was the company.  The food, including a caprioska, was delicious and beautifully presented.  No wonder it's the best restaurant in Destin on Trip Advisor.  They are also a hotel if you want to stay there.

Rok Burger Fort Lauderdale

Before going to our last Marlins game, we decided to eat out because the Marlins' food is so very bad.  So we went to Rok Burger.  Portions were huge and they had deviled eggs and fried pickles.  We left stuffed, despite the burgers being merely meh.  The blackberry drink was really good, though!

Meh Mexican On The Beach

We really wanted Mexican food, so we ignored Mom's advice and tried to get some in Fort Lauderdale on our last evening there.  The food was mediocre and the wait service was poor.  It was also dreadfully overpriced because it was on the main drag by the beach.  Call me disappointed.

Nails Done

Mom and I got our nails done at the Hilton Resort in Fort Lauderdale.  Evidently blue is not a normal choice for their clientele.

Out For Burgers

Can't go to American without some burgers outdoors. So here they were.  The fresh fruit was really nice, too.

Marlins Game

We took Mom to a Marlins game.  It was the last game of the pitcher Fernandez, who died in a drunk boating accident the following weekend.  As you can see, Andreas got us very good seats!

Very Late Birthday Dinner

Mom insisted on taking Andreas out for a birthday dinner despite it being over six weeks after his birthday.  We had some pretty good Greek food, and he avoided being sung to by the waiters.

Crowded Waterway

The intercoastal waterway in Fort Lauderdale is crowded with buildings and boats.  It's kind of sad.
