Au Revoir For Now

I am putting this away for a bit because I'm working on too many large projects at the moment.  I hope to pick it up again in a couple of months.  For now, I've got a good start and have learned a bit from working on it.

Half A Leaf

I have no idea if half a leafs have the existential problems of half a bees, but that's pretty much what I've got here.  Blanket stitches with one strand of thread make things go slow.

Plodding Along

Still getting done slowly on this.  The second leaf is about halfway done now.

Leaf It Alone

My lone fully done leaf won't be all by itself for long.  The second one is started around the edges.

Barring The Leaf

It's time to do the next big leaf.  I've started outlining it after covering some bars.

Still Banding

Still working on the bands then starting the next big leaf.  The leaf's got the edge backstitched and is ready to fill in.

Barring Some

I've been working on connector bits instead of starting in on a new motif this time.  I believe I will start a leaf next time I work on this.

Clustered

I have my first grape cluster done!  This photo looks really dingy, but I promise the actual piece isn't.

Almost A Bunch

I am almost done with the first bunch of grapes.  There are a couple more to go, then I can work on the next leaf.

Not As Dingy

I've gotten a few more grapes done.  My big thing now is to work on consistency of my stitches.

Dingy Looking

This picture does not look like the pretty pristine white of the piece itself.

A Couple Of Grapes

I've got a couple of grapes done.  Working on the rest of the bunch.

Veined

I have the first leaf completely done now and am working on some grapes.  It's even got the inner veins stitched.  Onward!

One Leaf Done

With this one leaf, I have discovered that the black cat's fur will deliberately attach itself to white fabric; that waxing the thread may help with stitching but leaves a discoloration problem; and that this goes faster than I feared. Onward!

Making It Round

I've got more blanket stitch around the grape leaf.  It's going faster than I feared.  My current worry is cat hair.  Cats are evil, and when I leave this out for my husband to take a photo of, his black cat tries to sit on it.

My First Richelieu

Last October, while we were in Krakow, I bought some Richelieu kits.  This is one of them.  It's a table runner, and it's going to be very hard  to photograph as it goes on.  It's also huge.  The stitching, though, is going faster than I thought it would.
