Slow Progress

With the training we were going through, last week I made very little progress on everything.  There were whole days where I didn't lift a needle.  The result is the flower's only half done and I still have a leaf to go.

Stitching The Way Along

Well, the stitching is certainly progressing since I've started doing it daily.  I have most of one flower plus two more leaves to go.  It should be done some time next week.

Halfway Point

I am now officially at the halfway point of this design.  It will become my next daily stitch soon.

Seconding A Flower

I am almost halfway done with this piece!  The second flower is filling in.

Second Flower Emerges

Time for a second flower to come out of hiding. A lot of bits are a lot more stitching than intended because of the count of the fabric.

Getting My Blue On

There's a lot of blue going on here at the moment, but soon I will add some orange.  Three leaves done and now working on the base of the second flower!

Elegant Poppies

MolDeco did another great framing job when they framed these poppies.  They're from an EGA group correspondence course that I piloted.

Almost Three

I am so close to having the third leaf done.  Slowly it's getting there.

Two And A Half Leaves

I am up to two and a half leaves on this piece!  It's coming along, if slowly.

On To The Third

The third leaf is right there to be finished now.  I think this one will go faster than the last.

One Leaf, Two Leaf

Second leaf is done.  After experimenting, I think I like my motif way of doing things better.

Onto The Third Layer

The second leaf has only a layer and a half to go.  Stitching this full sized on 40 count instead of 28 count has made it much more slower going.

Second Layer

I am finally working on the second layer of the design.  Despite having more thread showing, it looks less dense than the first layer alone.  There are four layers, total.  This leaf is going sooo slowly.

Still Leafing

This second leaf is pretty dense, stitchwise, so I'm still working on the first level of the blackwork pattern.  Hopefully I'll have it filled soon.

Trying A Different Tack

I finished the first leaf, so progress has been made.  In looking at the pattern for the second leaf, I saw that it wasn't individual motifs like the last one.  For this reason, I decided to try the instructor's method of doing the whole piece as lines of running stitch instead of as motifs.  This is the start of that experiment.

On The Leaf

The instructions for the fillings are all overall and not individual motifs.  I've decided to do them individually because it sends a bit of accomplishment with each of them done.

Leafing Out

I've got some of the leaves outlined.  The blue adds a lot of punch to the piece, I think, and makes it look better.  Now to start some more fill.  The flower is the biggest single part of the piece, so it feels like I have less to go.

Beflowered

I'm finally almost done with the big flower.  Yay, I can get to something else soon.

Still On The Boring

Well, I got at least one of these petals done.  The other is started, but is going to take a while because it's both boring and dense.
