Steampunk Kits

A Russian stitch kit company made these cute kits.  I love them!  They even have evenweave fabric instead of aida.  They're going with me to the US so I can start, and maybe finish, them.

Steampunked

Due to a technical failure, I don't have a before picture of this block.  The only area not previously covered was the green on the left, so I did it.  I made spring flowers, added a butterfly, and did a bit of seamwork.  I hope Betty likes it when she gets it.

Traveling Steampunk Style

One more steampunk block done, one last to go.  This one's Kathi's, and her theme was Time and Travel.  Well... someone else had spelled out Paris on the block, so I -had- to put on an Eiffel Tower.  I also added a few more things and sent it on its way.

Got Into Gears

I finished working on Colleen's steampunk block this past week.  This first picture is how it came to me.  It's heavy with all the metal on it, but... I made it heavier.
Here's a picture of the whole block after what I did.  I added a couple of seams, a gear trail, some seashells, and a piece of Uruguayan history.  The yellow badge is from the local electric company and was used to mark electric meters.

Steampunk for Kathy

I love the way Kathi pieced this block.  It looks so industrial and Modrian and steampunky!  It also reminds me of a Victorian curiosity box, so I took that angle with my embellishments, below.  I had to stop to leave room for others.
