I added a color to the left side border and stitched in the center colors of the quatrefoil bits.

Pulled Threads

I am doing this stitchalong with my EGA chapter.  Since it takes so long to get anything, I'm pulling threads from my stash.  This is what I have so far.

Blue Bumps

I did a bit more on the fin/gill and made some blue bumps for the next segment of the dragon.

New Earrings

Since the grocery stores here don't have earrings and that's the only place we've been going, Andreas ordered me a new pair online.  Cassiopea and Orion!  They go up the ear instead of hang from the lobe, too.

Different

It's nice to work on something both completely different and easy at the same time.  That's what I am doing with this.  Bits of blue and orange done this time.

I Make Baby Blankets

Another pregnant friend, another baby blanket.  The pattern for this one was picked out by the expectant mum.  On Ravelry, it's called Tiramisu.

BeWintered

Yay, anotherJanuary start crossed off my list.  I think it turned out pretty well, considering.  Not at all sure when or how I''ll get it framed, but I want it in the same style as Let It Snow.

Need More Thyme

I told Andreas I felt like I didn't have enough time to stitch now that I'm working full time.  I also told him I used the last of the thyme when I made the rabbit stew.  This was his response, via Amazon.

Bits And Pieces

I have bits and pieces of ground and tree done now, along with more backstitching on the top.

Almost A Word

Now that I have the huge letter out of the way, the rest is going really quickly!

February Done, On To March

Yay, I'm almost caught up!  Once I have March done, I get a little break on this until April.  That feels good.

Two Lobes

The top of the heart is done!  Now it's a bit more at this width then all narrowing down.  This has become my daily piece, so expect more progress.

Finish Quickly, Too

My weekly finish is this one!  I've got it ready to make into a door knocker when I have time and motivation.

Stop And Stitch The Queens

Queen stitches are, perennially, one of my least favorite stitches.  This band has a LOT of them.  So I'm slowly working my way across it and suffering through them.

Well, the big ear flap is getting very close to done.  Looks like the neck is next.

All Stuffed

I actually put something together!  I haven't done that in quite a while, so I'm happy.  My little autumn (spring) biscornu is done!

New Book

I think this is the first physical book I've bought in the past year or more.  After looking through it, I'm kind of like, "This is what all the buzz is about?"  I find it probably good for beginners, but don't really see much I'll be learning from it.

Back To Badgers

This small piece was in my "started" drawer, so I pulled it out  and put it into the rotation.  It's one of those British Heritage kits.

Another Winter Done

Yay, I'm now averaging a finish a week.  My latest is Winter Wonderland.  All complete!

Thinking Of The Cold

I wish it would cool down here, but no - I live in the tropics for the moment.  There's no snow unless I make it.  So I made this.  And it's done now.

Pi Day Pie

I brought lemon chess pie in for pi day on Monday.  Yes, people at work think I'm a geek.  They still ate the pie.  Evidently chess pie is not common, though, unless you're from the South.

Dinner Out At Kymbu

A group from the embassy went to Kymbu restaurant last week.  It was a good experience, and the place is beautiful.  It's in Talatona, and is part of a resort compound.  Our table was outdoors and close to a pool.  The food was well presented and tasted like it had been prepared with care.  Serving was partially family style and partially individual.

There were two kinds of breads and three toppings in the couvert.  One was regular bread and the other had chorizo in the middle.  Andreas said the tuna topping was very good for tuna.  There was also a generous bit of butter and a large handful of olives.  Andreas gobbled those up too.

I had a caprioska to drink.  I would have had a second one if they had brought it to me... it was nice and freshly lime, but not as strong as it should have been.

Both Andreas and I had the picana steaks.  They were juicy and flavorful.  The smears of balsamic and wine sauces were pretty but not big enough to flavor the steaks.  The main came with black beans, rice, and french fries.  The sides, with the exception of the beans, were served family style.  The bean were unspiced.  They could have used some.  French fries were crispy, and the rice was white.

Below is a photo of part of the outside dining area.  The place is pretty big!  We will go back, as, with the exchange rate, dinner was about $25 per person plus tip.

Topped

The top part is done, so now it's on to working my way down.  It's actually a pretty big ornament.

Tailed Out

There were a few stitches missing from both gargoyles' tails.  That's fixed now, along with adding some more gold and green to the middle rondel.

All Written Out

All the letters are written out now.  Just need to complete the right border.  I don't like how some of the letters fade, so eventually I will stitch this a third time with more contrast.

All Puffed Up

I haven't been posting much food lately because we really haven't been out to eat much.  I did, however, a couple of weeks ago, make a perfect puffed pancake!  Andreas decided I should show it to y'all.

January And A Half

Yay, January's done and February's coming along some.  Maybe I really will catch up!

It's Sprung!

I'm done with my Autumn Biscornu.  I like how it turned out; later this week, I'll finish it into an actual biscornu.

Almost All Crossed

I'm getting close to being done.Almost all of the cross stitches are finished, and the beading's almost halfway downward.  Soon!

Pizza Night Out

About fifteen of us descended on Vitruvio restaurant in the Epic Sana hotel a couple of months ago.  We had a good time, and I even got to take photos of the food.  I had a nice, big carpaccio that was fresh and tangy.  Then I had a hawaiian pizza.  What was best was that the price was only about $30 per person.  That's amazing for Angola!

Grounding

Did a bit more ground and a bit more gridding on the top border.  Slowly it goes forward.

Stuck On Brown

I am getting tired of the bunch of confetti browns.  Yes, the peahen's looking realistic, but it's just boring and tedious.  Maybe I'll work on another bit next time.

Change of Perspective

I added in the third color on this band, and it changed the whole look of it.  From elegant and spare to more country French with just one addition.  Kind of neat to see it happen.

Merrily

Got the merrys on this done.  Now to work more of the top and get this done.

Bumping Up Priority

This, for now, will be the second item I work on daily until I'm caught up.  I'm so far behind on this!   My stitching time has been severely limited lately.  

On To Queen Stitches

Argh, this band has waaaay too many queen stitches.  They are NOT my favorite thing, mainly because it's a fussy stitch and I don't think it looks that great for the work.

Back To Boho

I felt like I was doing too much counted work lately, so when a spot opened on my rotation, I added this in.  It should be fairly quick and it's definitely not counted.  I do have a question of Bucilla, though - why did they put a tapestry needle in the kit instead of a crewel one?  Denim's dang hard to go through with a tapestry needle.  First thing I did was change the needle out.

March's Little Extra In Progress

I decided to make a biscornu for the CyberStitchers EGA chapter Little Extra this month.  It's coming along well.  I changed out every color, as it was originally in autumnal colors.  You can see the original here.  I think it's going to be pretty.

Looking Wintry

Finally things are looking like trees.  Because of the beads being such a large part of this, without them, it looks much more abstract.

All Turtles Down

Yay, it's finished and it looks cute!  It's going to be sitting in a box for a while as I decide what to do with it.

Wooden Picks

Got these in the now-defunct as of this week Dottiebox.  Cute, but I have no idea what to do with them here in Africa.

Slow Going

I'm still on January!  I can't seem to find much stitching time between work and arranging the house.  At least the latter seems to be getting closer to completion.
