La Placinte For Dinner
On a recent Sunday afternoon, we went to a late lunch/early dinner at La Placinte. This was not the location we usually go to, but the food was the same. Andreas had salad and I had soup. Both were good. We got a picture of someone else's fried potatoes - we were there with two other families - and the yellow half sphere is mamaliga. My roast chicken was dry as dust and not very flavorful. It's something I will not order again. The placinte with cheese was good and greasy as usual.

Brand New Stash
I had been looking for this stocking canvas on sale for a few years for Andreas. When Pocket Full of Stitches had its sale in January on all canvases, I jumped right on it and they ordered this one for me. The rolled it up and packaged it beautifully and it got here in perfect condition. I'm hoping to have the time and to find some stretcher bars big enough to start this soon.

Classification Issue
This is a new, to me, piece. A friend asked me to finish it for her. She's done all the stitching to this point, but it's languished for six years because working on it gave her headaches. It's an Art Goblen design, and it's very out of my comfort zone. On the other hand, there's a -lot- done already, so it shouldn't take me too long to finish. It's now in my rotation.

Dinner For Two At Pegas
We ate at Pegas at the end of January, just the two of us. Andreas had Greek salad and I had a caprese salad with proscuitto. It's hard to find decent proscuitto here, but this was very good. I could have used some more balsamic glaze, but it was good nonetheless. Andreas also had a pasta and rabbit dish that he thought was excellent. I had a steak and grilled veggies with mozzarella. It was all good, as usual, even if the portions were huge for me. Cappucino at the end served with flair.

A Crazy Quilt Start
This is the block I picked out to work on from Pam's set of the Fool's Gold round robin. The lower picture is my start. She said she wanted large motifs, so I'm obliging. It's a pattern from Mary Corbett's site. I am doing the paper method because all that tracing on these fabrics would be rather difficult. I've got a pretty good start.
