Last Two

These are the last two of my Texas series needlepoint kits.  Now I need to free up some stretcher bars and make them.

Long Stitch From India

I found a needlework store by accident while on a walking tour of Colaba.  Surprisingly, my guide let me in.  He was both interested and confused, as he didn't know people actually did these things for leisure.  These are all Indian designs and were about half the price of the same kind of kit in the US.

Decision Time

I've started back to work on this, as I'm back from India.  I'm running out of the pearl cotton used for the edging.  This lead me to think.  The pearl cotton is a Polish brand and it'll be a while until I get back there.  The color's unusual enough that it'd be hard to find.  So... I am going to stop after the next three sections.  It'll leave a nice, squarish piece.  Now to get those three sections done.

Another Border

I now have a second border around my star.  Getting this a bit progressed.

Pretty Stationery

I am a complete sucker for pretty stationery.  This is inked in silver and sparkles in the light.  It was also about a dollar and a quarter.

Some Stars

Stars to put in the new place.  I hope we have a well built house in Kosovo.

One More Done

Yay, a finish!  As my moving time comes nearer, I feel the need to complete more things and get them finished.

More Filling In

I am filling in the wing of the dragon.  It's beginning to look impressive.

Paper Stars

These little triangles fold out to become three dimensional five pointed stars.  I can't wait to put them up in Kosovo.  We were so disappointed with the housing here in Angola that I never really decorated.  I hope Kosovo is much, much better.

Squares To Use

It's probably waaay too ambitious of me, but I hope to get some sewing and weaving done during the five total weeks I have off between now and when I leave this place for good.

Lots More Pink

Lots more pink added, and no more green this time.  It's almost ready to add the colors of another flower.

Another Olga

This is the beginning of another small Olga Maxden design.  i'm hoping it'll be as short to do as it looks..

Bannered The Buckle

The banner is all filled in and ready to be lettered.  Things are coming along nicely.

Spring Tapestry Kit

I have started a Stitchy Box Ink Circles subscription.  This is the first one in it.  I've already started it as part of Stitch Maynia.  I may make the next year a Chatelaine and Ink Circles year.

Got Some Swirl

One giant swirl done and another one to do on the other side.  Beginning to look like a heart to me!

More Branches

I added more branches this time, and bits more leaf.  I love that currently I am not working with the rayon slippery stuff.  I don't like it and I don't think it adds much to the piece.

Spicy

We bought spice from a local market in Mumbai.  Some of it was for gifts, and some for us.  I am most excited about the most expensive - saffron!  I will be using this for cooking soon.

Skirts And Scarves

These tubes are broomstick skirts with printed borders.  They're very full skirts and just need waistlines.  The smaller tubes are matching scarves.  Now to get the time and space to make them into what I want.

Two Sides Done-ish

Almost done with the second of four parts of part five.  I think I am getting pretty good at this.

Tulip Garden Done

I know my particular version of this knot won't be liked by everyone.  It's against almost every recommendation by the designer, but I like it, and that's what counts.  I'm glad to have it done because I've got a lot more knots to do!  I'm sure they'll all be different.

Pretty Dupioni Silk

These pieces of silk are going to become purses eventually.  For now, they feel and look beautiful - especially for the price I paid for them.

Embroidered Shawl

One last all cotton shawl with embroidery over about half of it.  The embroidery is on the front and then the rest drapes behind.

Tender Heart

I made a good start on Tender Heart by Riolis.  It's about a fifth done!

Yup, Still Black

I am still filling in with lots of black, but you can see the progress because Andreas took the photo instead of me.

Handwoven Cotton

An NGO came in to the Mumbai consulate to sell stuff, and I found this beautiful handwoven shawl.  It's well over 150 threads per inch and whisper thin.  The colors shimmer.  Of course, this has the same problem as my other shawls at the moment - the cat.  Argh.

Shawls

I bought these three shawls in Mumbai.  All are soft and pretty, but out of different materials.  I'd get them out of packaging and wear them here, but my husband has decided to keep letting the cat into our adjoining closet on his side.  I hate cats.  And I hate cat fur on things I want to wear.  He doesn't get that, so they stay packaged until I can get away from this dreadful house in this dreadful place and enjoy wearing what I want to wear without cat hair.

Amethyst Ring

A silver ring with an amethyst.  I just thought it looked nice, and it wasn't overpriced.

Resilienza

This is my largest Stitch Maynia start so far.  It's Resilienza by AAN.

Small Purse

One of the groups that came into the Mumbai consulate was selling these cute, but very small, backpack purses.  I was taken with the color of this one.

Another Ink Circles

Stitch Maynia start again of Ink Circles.  This one's Peace Wheel.

Another New Purse

I haven't had the energy to switch to this new purse yet, but I want to.  I'm hoping to do it in the next couple of days.  It's slightly bigger than my current one and a surprise from Andreas.

May's Done

In another week, it'll be time to start June.  At least I'm not taking until the end of the month to finish each of these.

Magnet For Andreas

One of the shopkeepers gave me this magnet especially for Andreas.  It's got the Gate of India and the Taj hotel on it.

Horseplaying for Stitch Maynia

This is one of my Stitch Maynia starts, Horseplay by Ink Circles.  For some reason, I'm starting a lot of Ink Circles this month.  Fabric is carnival by Picture This Plus.

First Border

My fleur-de-lis has its first border done.  It was rather hard to do in a dim hotel room with dark canvas and floss, so most of it had to wait until I got back to Angola.

Lone Star

I received another needlepoint kit!  Time to start doing more needlepoint.  I'm almost done with Fun Stuff, so I will be able to add to the rotation soon.

Both Started

I already have one copy of each of these, but a friend visited Moldova and brought new ones back to me.  Now I can make and give away!

Another Leaf Appears

I have gotten far enough along that I get to add another leaf area.  Progress, indeed!

Sapphires For Me!

Sapphires and white gold from my husband!  Andreas insisted on buying me some heirloom jewelry while we were shopping.  I love them.

Part Of One

This is part of a petal and hard to see, but it's one of my Stitch Maynia starts.

Jelly Rolls

When I went on my spree on Joanns.com, I found these in the sale section.
