All Bordered Up

Now that I have the outer edges done, somewhat, it's time to work on the insides again.  I like the color combination on black.

Almost Two Pages Down

I was stitching on this the other day and realized how far I've gotten.  I'm almost two full pages in, and it's looking pretty good.  This is the widest part of the dragon.  Things get less wide from here on out, which will help with the look of progress.

Cafe Del Mar

A couple of Friday nights ago we went to Cafe Del Mar, a restaurant on the Ilha in Luanda.  Not only are they a restaurant, they will serve you at a beach chair during the day so you can watch the waves on the beach. The water, unfortunately, is not good enough to swim in.  The service was impeccable and the food was pretty good.  Andreas had a pasta dish, and I had picanha.  As usual, Angolans cut and cook it waaay too thin.  The fried banana was tasty and my caprianha was very good.  Overall it was a pleasant evening by the ocean waves.

Getting Darker

As the petals go toward the middle they get darker.  I've been getting far enough to see this now.  Progress is slow, but it is progress...

To The Bin

I pulled this out to add to my rotation and worked on it twice.  After that, I decided it brought me no joy to do and I had no use for it, so it went into the charity bin.

Maker Bracelet

Working through my backlog of craft project and I finished something new - another bracelet.

Backgrounding

Yay, I have most of the background done!  All I have after that is a bit of beading and placing large objects.

Coeur Done

I think my Coeur Rose came out well.  The piece was an easy stitch and fast when I finally made it daily.

Sculpey Bowl

I am working through my For The Makers kits as part of my finishing off/cleaning out spree.  This was one of the projects - a sculpey bowl.  It didn't take long to make and came out pretty well as a jewelry bowl.  I already have enough of these, so, while I learned something new, the product is going in the "for charity" pile.

One Flower Done

Yay, one of the two large flowers is done!  Maybe once I finish them both, things will go faster with the little flowers around.

Afghan For A Child

I made my first mandala afghan, Sophie's Garden, for the daughter of friends of mine.  She likes bright colors!  I think it came out pretty well, but it does still need to be blocked.  No where to do that here safely, so it will wait until I get to Fort Worth.  Once it's blocked, it'll get mailed to Vienna.

Tangled Lines

Mainly did the red berries and the background at this point.  The lines look all tangled so far.

Windows And Scaffolds

I am up to the third window now on the third side.  Things are progressing well, and I have also started the backstitching on part four.

Done With This

I decided I didn't like the pattern of the third square, so I'm not doing it.  Time to put these two together for a scissors fob or something.

Bottom Of The Bottle

I am so close to being done I'm at the bottom of the bottle.  Yay!  I think it's coming out pretty well, overall.

Swirling Around

Decided to put this into my rotation for a little quick gratification.  So far, it seems to look like a moustache.  Not at all sure why the dark brown is a color choice for this.  It doesn't look like spring at all.

Bead Call

Nordic Needle had a Mill Hill bead kit sale, and I ordered a few things.  So far, I've started the peacock kit and that's it.  I figure they'll be good fodder for home leave starting in August.

Carded

Little owl is in his card and ready to be gifted.

June Done

I think June had the most stitches on it so far.  Time to start July next week.

Awarded

The other girls in my section and I received this award from the embassy.  Not exactly sure why.  Andreas won't let me get rid of it.  He seems to think I should hang up all my awards.

One More Ink Circles

I have one last Ink Circles stitch maynia start.  This one's Heliocopter.

New Applique Kit

I am thinking of taking this with me on home leave to start.  It'd all be hand done.  Not bringing a sewing machine with me.  Wouldn't it be relaxing to applique while I recover from Angola?

Tops Of Heads

The tops of the heads of the last big gargoyles are done. I am well over halfway done with this!

Fun Stuff Done

Yay, this is done!  I like it as a square instead of the full rectangle.  Not sure when I will get it framed, but I'm happy with it.

Emirates Food

On our way back from India, we upgraded to business class.  Emirates had a special.  These are the lunches we had.  The taste was pretty good, and I was happy to not have so much in the way of spice thrown at me after India.  There was even beef!

Inner Outline Done

All the inner border's done, yay, and it's time to start filling things in again.

Stuck In The Middle

When you're in the middle of a project, especially a big one, it's hard to see progress.  I promise tehre was a lot of filling in going on.

Lunch At A Pub

We went to the mall again on our last full day and had lunch.  This pub was so much more quiet at lunch time!  We had drinks and appetizers and over ordered again.  Andreas couldn't resist the idea of mac and cheese fries.  I had popcorn chicken, which was a meal in itself.  My mushroom burger had too much spice, but the onion rings were good.  Andreas had chicken lollipops and a chicken sandwich.  By this time, we were missing beef.

Seem To Be Mired

I seem to be mired in little bits of leaves, little bits of petals, and not much progress.

New Daily

This is becoming my new daily project as I start working on getting more things done.  It certainly helps that I am taking two weeks off, and soon I won't be working at all.

Over Ordering At Pali Bhavan

It was our penultimate night in town and Andreas still hadn't gone to Pali Bhavan, so I took him.  We ordered way too much food because we wanted to taste so many different things.  They were all very good.  I especially liked the stuffed mushrooms.  Everything was spicy without going over the edge to "so hot you can't taste what it is."  The decor is steampunky, too!

Last Celini Dinner

We both decided to have soup on our last night at the Italian restaurant.  My mushroom soup was good, if a bit oily.  Andreas liked his tomato.  My pizza was also up to standard, and Andreas liked his duck breast.
