Gold And Green

I am getting closer to more bits done on this.  The green gargoyles are coming along, and I'm about to start filling in the arch.

Painted Egg

This egg was bought in Odessa at the outdoor market.  I liked the look of it and added it to my egg collection.

Still Green

This piece is going to have a huge amount of green.  I also remember why I don't usually do Dimensions needlepoint kits: the printing on the canvas sucks.  I've pretty much ditched the instructions because they are no better than the canvas and decided  to wing it.

Patriotic Bracelets

One of these will be going to my daughter; the other two are mine, in support of Ukraine's defense against Russian aggression.

Backgrounding

This time it was all background.  I did get quite a bit more blue put in.

Reframed

This is something old of Andreas'.  The frame's been broken for a while, so off to MolDeco it went for a new frame.

The Tube

It''s beginning to look like a subway map, but I'm pleased everything is lining up like it's supposed to!

Deadlining

I am feeling so stressed about finishing this on time.  We have only until August 1 to get it framed before we move, and we definitely want MolDeco to frame it.  I'm making good progress, but is it good enough?

New Accessories

Andreas found these at Castle Memories on etsy.  The left is held on by haircombs.  I need to get wearing these more.  I always get compliments when I wear feathers.  I wonder if that's because people think I'm flighty?

Medium Blue

I have made the transition from the dark blue top to the slightly less dark blue upper middle and am beginning to now transfer to medium blue.

All This Red

I am, at least, in an area where there are fewer quarter stitches.  I am, however, getting tired of red only.  At least it's officially past the halfway point.

Earrings!

Even the packaging for these earrings was beautiful, so I had to take a picture of it, too.  The earrings on top are for November 11th, and the ones on bottom are for every day use.  My earring collection is getting to be huge.

Brown Background

More brown all around.  The background on the right is a bit more filled out, but it's hard  to tell.

Sampler And Owl

I don't know why Andreas decided to take a photo of these together outside of them being framed at the same time.  On the right is an owl print he had; the left is the little band sampler I finished earlier this year.

On Time

I am right on time with the May block.  Will definitely have it done by the end of the month.

Stuff In Soroca

It's a sniffer dog!  The customs service of Moldova had several dogs out to pet.  The weather was warm and these dogs are sooo patient.  There was a festival in Soroca  to reopen the fortress.  The place was packed, except no one could get into the fortress because the politicians were hogging it.

Onto The Third Layer

The second leaf has only a layer and a half to go.  Stitching this full sized on 40 count instead of 28 count has made it much more slower going.

Inside The Structure

The eternal flame is for local unknowns who fell in WWII.  There was only one very short campaign in Moldova.  The Soviets had an offensive from Tiraspol to Iasi at the very end of the war.  It's when Moldova was incorporated into the Soviet Union.  The quotes were originally only in Russian; newer ones have been added in Romanian in the past couple of decades.

Colorng It Up

I have been unable to work much on this, but there's a new color on the bird.

Long Shots

Photos across the distances of the complex.  This top photo is of the VIP entrance.  It's less impressive than the main one.

One Day...

Maybe one day in the future I'll be done adding gray to the edge of the peach house; today is not that day.

Heroes of 1992

This is the memorial to the Transnistrian war.  It's much different in feel from the Soviet ones.  There's also a religious element to it that would be missing from the others.

Big Word Done

This is how wide the piece will be.  It means I have the very top done.  Go me!

Starting The Second Half

I've made a good start on the bottom half.  It's going to be a bit of a rush to finish the cross stitches by the end of June.

Part Three Started

Very slow progress on this, but I actually have started part three finally!  This part has birds in the middle.

More Memorials

This is the non-Eternitate part of the cemetery.  It is a bit chaotic, and there is not a single straight aisle in the whole place.  New people are buried daily, and families crowd their own plots - along with indiividualizing them.
