Airport Food

A little cappucino and coffee cake as we waited for our flight in Vienna.

Airport Food

We ate at the Denver airport before going home to Fort Worth. Ridiculously overpriced, but at least it tasted good and was a lot of food.

Airport Lunch

We had a bit of a layover at the Vienna airport, so we ate lunch there. It was pretty good, if very expensive for what it was.

Becoming Regulars

While we're not as regular as the locals, we have been to this restaurant at least twice each time for the last three times we've been in Vienna.  I still love the carrot soup, and the schnitzel - I want to learn how the Viennese bread their schnitzel.  I'm in awe of it.

McDonald's Austria

They allow dogs in the store!  While we were there, a couple came in with their owners for snacks.  They were well behaved and didn't cause a fuss.  We ate a quick lunch while we were between Christmas markets.  Andreas had a chicken sandwich and I had quarter pounder.  The buns taste better and the food looks much nicer than in American McDonald's.

Centimeter Breakfast

Our Christmas market trip in December was a quick one to Vienna.  Andreas insisted on eating at one of his favorite places, Centimeter.  As you can see, breakfast was huge.  Tasted pretty good, too.

Ornaments From Vienna

Lots and lots of laser cut wooden ornaments in the Christmas markets.  I chose these three.

Christmas Market Necklace Find

Found this at the Rathaus Christmas market and brought it home.  I like the drop necklaces.

Gifted By Restaurant

We were given this calendar when we went out to eat at a Chinese buffet in Vienna with friends.  Time to put it up.

Candling

Found this beautiful little beeswax candle in a Christmas market in Vienna.  All the sides have pressed flowers in them.

Airport Lunch

Evidently, if you are departing the Vienna airport, you're not supposed to be hungry.  There's very little choice and it's overpriced.  At least it tasted good.

Last Dinner

This was our last dinner in Vienna, at the Frau restaurant we'd gone to a few times.  We had it with Jeanette and Kent, who were starting a conference that day.  Dinner was good, especially the elderflower cocktail and the carrot soup!

Breakfast And Lunch In One

It was pretty much lunchtime on a nasty, precipitous day, and Andreas decided he wanted both breakfast and lunch.  I settled for a pot of tea and lunch only.  The cafe made our respite from the weather a wonderful experience.

At The Cafe

We had a nice lunch at the cafe on the other side of the street from our apartment on our last full day in Vienna.  We miss Vienna.  At least next year it'll be a lot easier to visit.

Centimeter Breakfast

Andreas decided to try breakfast at Centimeter too, so we made the whole round of meals.  Had a really good conversation with the waitress, and I wish we could get breakfast like this in Angola...

Centimeter Dinner

After having had lunch with his class at Centimeter Pub, Andreas decided we should have a dinner there, too.  We did, and it was good and huge.  I had the small chicken wings - a kilo.  Andreas had a green salad and some goulash.  We also split some cheese schnitzel.  I want to learn the Austrian breading technique.  I am enamored.  Food was good; we were among the few there actually to eat instead of have a few beers after work, so we got a bit more attention because of the bigger bill.  Centimeter's evidently a small restaurant chain in Vienna, and their gimmick is that certain dishes are served by the meter.  If you find one, go.

Albertina Lunch

Iulia and I stopped for lunch after art viewing at the cafe in the Albertina museum.  We both had paninis, which were freshly made and had a good frisee with them.  It was a good day.
