One More Step on the Walk

My diamonds have centers now.  One last step more and I'll be done with this log.

One More Layer

One more layer done on this log.  It's coming along pretty well, and I like the way it's looking.

Time for a Hilton

Okay, so it's a lot of Hilton stitches.  They're all placed, though, and ready to be interspersed with satin stitches next round.

Six Parts Done

It took me three rotations, but I finally finished log six.  Log seven looks like less actual work.  Adding the satin stitches to this last one made a huge difference.  The pattern called for them to be pulled, but between my hand injury and that I didn't think it'd look as good, I left them as regular satin stitches.

Still on Six

I got the second and third parts of this log done.  It's complicated!  There's satin stitching to do, then it'll be complete.  This time, I wrapped metallic thread around all the back stitching and filled in the small spaces.

Not a Full Brick

This particular brick has a lot of stitching on it, so I only completed the first step.  I think I'll be able to finish it once I work on it again.

Fourth Rectangle Done

It's not quite to the pattern in the chart, but the fourth rectangle of City Walk is complete.

Fourth Part Filled

Working from the middle out, each set gets a little bit bigger.  The hardest part of this section was pulling out the canvas threads.  Always a scary prospect!

Adding Some Beads

I got a third section of City Walk done.  It's a beaded one, and the beads are strung in an odd pattern.  The directions were muddled, but the diagram helped a lot.

Center Steps

I have one more step to go on the center - putting on the beads.  Once I'm done with that, I get to play with a new pattern.

Starting the Fun

I got to start the fun stuff this week.  Yay!  It's good to be able to actually not be making lines and lines.

Walls Done

Finally!  I'm done with all the block walls.  Now I can go on and finally do the fun stuff.

Counting Down

Only one more rectangle and a half to go.  I'm so happy I'm so close to getting this "prework" done.

On the Outer Edge

I am now officially on the outer rim of the design!  Yay, almost done with the skeleton and I can get to the fun part.

Temporarily Squared Up

Getting more of the outlines done.  The end is in sight!  In the meantime, the center's square again.  Boring, boring, boring, but I'm being a good girl and not doing any of the fun stuff until this is done.

Rectangulating

Two and a half more rectangles done... it's boring, though.  Needless to say, I won't be done in time to turn this in.

Squaring Off

I got two boxes squared off this week; it should go a bit more easily on counting now.

Down the Stairs

Still doing what is basically the prework for this piece.  There's certainly a lot of it, and I'm no where near done.  It's coming along a little, though, and the two bottom-most sides are the middle of the piece.  Next time I work on it, I'll be putting the other two sides on the square.

Starting the Zigzag

I started the zigs and zags to make the rectangles of the piece this week.  I decided to do this to make sure the counting's correct before I go any farther.
