More Feathers

I can definitely tell the progress every time, and the peacock is coming along well.

Homemade Ajvar

My language teacher's mother gave us some of her homemade ajvar (on the right) and ketchup.  The ketchup is more like tomato sauce, and I will use it as such.  Ajvar is a red pepper paste.  It's a popular condiment here, and I thank her very much!

Afghan for Isabella

The Bartletts had their baby this month, and this afghan is going to Colombia to greet them when they get back home.  I said no pink, so they picked orange.

Done And Beaded

Yay, I have a finish this month!  It didn't take too long to do.

Snowdropping

I've got the second box done outside of outlining.  Once I'm done outlining the second box, I'll add the beads for the poinsettias.  For now, I'm happy I'm progressing.

Rainy Saturday Lunch

I posted on facebook when we were at this restaurant.  The music was a woman's soft jazz cover album where she covered songs from Black Sabbath, The Ramones, The Rolling Stones, and so on.  NONE fit her voice or style, so it was torture.  That's too bad, because the food was good and fresh.  Everything was made in house and tasted good.  Might go back again, as it's next door to the Italian grocery store, but we'll check what's playing music-wise first.

Butterfly Wings

As an artifact of what I've stitched, the mandala looks like it has butterfly wings.  I'm sure as I stitch more, they'll go away.

Off To Gresa

The other Friday we went to Princesa Gresa, a restaurant in downtown Pristina.  It doesn't specialize in anything, going from pizza to fancy entrees, but it's good.  I had a gin and tonic, some carrot and ginger soup, carpaccio, and a steak salad.  Andreas had soup, a greek salad, and chicken fingers.  All were good and well presented.

Roofing Both Sides

I am finally done with the bricks on the top house, and the roofing on the right is coming along.

Peahen Detail

The peahen is getting bigger and more detailed... but it's still brown.

Good Steak In Pristina

The steakhouse to go to in Pristina is Fiorentina's.  We went there last month, and I must admit it was good.  So was the service.  One of the waiters noticed Andreas' steak was a bit overcooked and offered to cook a new one for him.  He declined; it was medium instead of medium rare, but that's service!  My only complaint was the price of the wine.  It was 20 euros above the price on the menu.  Other than that, we'll go back.  And I'll ask the price of the wine when I order it.

Working On The Blues

I added more blues to the piece.  The mazes are looking complete in places.

Colorful Dragons

I have March done!  The dragons are pretty colorful.  Sometimes I look at this and think the menagerie is more a circus because of the colors I've chosen.

Kosovo Nails

February 19th was the tenth anniversary of Kosovo's independence proclamation.  In honor of that, I got my nails done in the Kosovo flag.  Thank you, Sevdije!

A New Start

I hadn't finished anything since early February, and I was still working on the same stuff.  Saw this in the French Needle's ad and had to get it.  I started it the day after it came in the mail.

One Thing Done Right

Te Halimi is a restaurant here in Pristina.  It makes one thing - garlic butter chicken - as its sole entree.  There are a few side dishes and nothing else.  The chicken is good and cheap!  But the wine is far overpriced and not great.

Not Miscounted

It turns out that the lopsided look of this is solely due to the lopsided fabric at the moment.  It'll get fixed once I block it.  That means I can get more done.

Traditional Albanian Food

We allowed the waiters at Liburnia here in Pristina order for us.  Liburnia is a traditional Albanian restaurant with a very nice atmosphere.  We had grilled mushrooms, pogache, peppers in cream, salad, meat, and a bunch of other stuff.  Despite, between three of us, eating less than half, we were stuffed.

Filling In Green

Lots of grass green to continue filling in.  I am very close to the turnover point for this project, though!

McDonald's Austria

They allow dogs in the store!  While we were there, a couple came in with their owners for snacks.  They were well behaved and didn't cause a fuss.  We ate a quick lunch while we were between Christmas markets.  Andreas had a chicken sandwich and I had quarter pounder.  The buns taste better and the food looks much nicer than in American McDonald's.

Petal Finishes

I finished a couple more petals.  These rows go slowly because the piece is so wide here.

Centimeter Breakfast

Our Christmas market trip in December was a quick one to Vienna.  Andreas insisted on eating at one of his favorite places, Centimeter.  As you can see, breakfast was huge.  Tasted pretty good, too.
