Kosovar Doily

Found this doily at our little Christmas market.  I think it's cute.

Last Of The National Museum

These are the last of my imperfect pictures at the National Museum.  As you can tell, they do a -lot- of cross stitch.

More Textiles

I know these pictures aren't up to my usual standard.  That's because I took them with the point and shoot instead of Andreas taking them with the Nikon.  I hope to drag Andreas out to this museum at some point to take better pictures.  Anyway, lots of beautiful local textiles to look at!

Traditional Moldovan textiles

The Moldovans do a lot of cross stitch, rug making, knitting, and crocheting.  Here are some pictures of textiles from the National Museum, including some bits of national costume.

Moldovan And Latvian Craft

These first three pictures are of Moldovan crafts.  The rest are of Latvian crafts that were loaned to the museum by the Latvian government for a temporary exhibition.  The belts are absolutely amazing.

Moldovan Textiles

These pictures were taken last summer at the Moldovan National Museum.  Andreas just now processed the pictures so I could show them to you, though.  All pieces here have been hand embroidered or crocheted by Moldovans and are exquisite pieces of art.

Roata Vremii Village Museum

On our way out of the restaurant, the waiter noticed us taking pictures.  He offered to show us the Moldovan museum housed in the building.  We had no idea one even existed.  We agreed, of course!  These pictures are of the museum, which represents an upper class house in a village.  Lots of textiles to admire!  The larger pictures won't be as detailed as usual on my stitching pics because they were taken with a point and shoot instead of the usual Nikon.  It was all we had with us.
