Stitch Maynia #10 - Snowy Owl

Being sick while on holiday, I am so far behind!  This is day ten, and it's yet another owl.  At this point it's a pine branch, but there will be an owl there.

Stitch Maynia #9 - Blackwork Hearts

No black on this piece, but I started with what I had on hand - silk mill floss and fiberlicious fabric.  Now to just finish it.

Stitch Maynia #8 - Kogin Market Bag

This kit was bought in Japan by Betsy and Mike and gifted to me.  The instructions are completely in Japanese!  Nothing in English.  At least the measurements are readable.  I'm about a quarter of the way up the main design.  Kogin is the Japanese version of pattern darning, so it's fairly easy.

Pretty Yarn

Who knew the Zweigart outlet would have yarn?  They do, and this is what I picked up.  They also have quilting fabric and paper crafting supplies.  The store is HUGE.

Stitch Maynia #6 - Vintner's Sampler

This little piece is by The Sweetheart Tree.  It's going to be a pretty quick stitch - this i all the way across, and the arch is a goodly portion of the whole thing.  I need to find more stitching time.

Linen Doilies

I need  to find something to stitch on these.  They were at the Zweigart outlet store.

Oh Deer

I have one deer done and am nearly halfway!  I'll be done with this band before the end of the month, for sure.

Gone Gardening

More orange and bits of blue.  Some flowers even finished.

Stitch Maynia #5 - Owlet Alarm

Another small start from Riolis.  This one's a good way to being done.

Knife

It's not the usual kind of knife Andreas buys, but I did need a new kitchen cleaver.  We saw this at the ren fair we went to on May Day, liked it, and bought it.

New Kit

More stash from my Zweigart factory outlet visit - a kit and a hoop.  Not sure I am going to like the kit.  It's got a preprinted background.

Stitch Maynia #4 - Awesome Possum

This is a bit different from most of Tracy's work.  It's not got a single mandala in it.  Received the kit through Stitchy Box and now getting around to starting it.

Stitch Maynia #3 - Owl

A lot of people got this on sale at Hobby Lobby in the last month or so.  Not me.  There are no Hobby Lobbys in Kosovo.  Mine came from 123Stitch.  It's for Andreas; this year's theme seems to be owls and other things for Andreas.

Went To Zweigart

I went to Zweigart last weekend!  The factory outlet is huge.  It happens to also be in the suburb of Stuttgart that we were visiting friends in anyway.  We went on Saturday morning, and they were even having a sale.  Part of what I bought is this three pieces of fabric.  The brown one will have a Chatelaine start on it.  The other two, I'm not sure about.  All were significantly lower in price than in retail stores in the States.

Stitch Maynia #2 - Clockwork Bird

This is such a neat design and I was eager to start it.  I have another in the clockwork series, too.  Hopefully I will get more time to stitch soon.

Another Afghan

This is a Lion brand pattern that I used Lion Brand Mandala yarn for.  It's in a color picked out by the mom, and it's ready before the baby's due.  Now I have at least two more to make very soon.

Stitch Maynia #1 - Bad Wolf

Andreas insisted I do this pattern, so I am.  It's Bad Wolf, and is half wolf and half rose.  Got a good bit of progress done on the first session.

Evening Up

The two sides are pretty even now, and the bottom is well started.  I've been stitching less here in Germany, but I am hoping to get back to this soon.

Time For Tea

I didn't get a chance to taste any of the tea this month before I left, but I'm looking forward to it when I get home.

Yarrrn

Not quite sure what I'm going to do with these, but they're added to my stash, courtesy of Lion Brand.

Beginning May

Time to start on May.  This is only one day's worth of work, but it's going to have a couple of deer.

More Than Halfway

When you start working on things, you get them done!  I'm now officially more than halfway done with this.  I like the color combination.

More Nordic Needle Stash

This is the last of what I bought from Nordic Needle.  As I'm not really into downloaded patters of whitework and such, I probably won't be buying from them again.

First Backstitching

Same amount of cross stitching as usual, but I added some back stitching at the top!  Looks like I'm on the downhill side now.

Buds Are Blooming

It may be a bit after the SAL officially ended, but I completed one!  Buds in Bloom is officially done.

Floss And More Floss

The large hank at the bottom will be the only color for my Linen and Thread 2017 sampler.  The rest are random subscription threads and such I've picked up in the past few weeks.

Another Stitchy Box

This box reminded me of Mardi Gras. Lots of orange, green, and yellow.  I will be using some of it this month during stitch maynia.

Sepaled

All the sepals are done and it's time to work on the stem.

The Silk Mill Saga

I was given a gift certificate to The Silk Mill, a wonderful French/English thread company based in southern France.  When I went to spend some of it, the website had major troubles with the redemption.  I emailed back and forth and, while they were unable to fix it at the time, they managed to get everything to go through by hand and sent me a package in December, with a couple of things extra in it for my patience.  The package got lost.  Instead of being directed through US DPO mail, the DPO saw the word "Kosovo" on the bottom and resent it to Kosovo mail.  It sat in Ferizaj, the city with the NATO base in it, for a couple of months.  DPO has a history of misshipping things.  I have had some items sit on aircraft carriers for months.  Silk Mill was going to send me a replacement package, but I kept saying to wait.  Lucky I did.  In mid-March it was returned to them, completely intact.
I gave Silk Mill my alternate address, the pouch one, and they repackaged and readdressed everything and sent it there.  Three weeks later, this is what I received.  They had put in even more things in it.  Wow!  I love their silk.  It's vibrant and beautiful to work with. There are also over 700 colors. Yay, and thank you!  It all arrived safe and sound finally.

Two Mazes Mazed

Looks like I'm definitely over a quarter done, maybe getting close to a third done now.
