Making Barbecue

Went to Spring Creek with Andreas for barbecue on his second day here.  I had a brisket sandwich and Andreas went for a sausage sandwich and a baked potato.

Across The Middle

The middle area of the top's done and it's time to get all the way across.

Rugs!

Since they were here, I decided to put some of the beautiful Indian rugs on the floor at the tiny duplex we rented.  The rugs are beautiful and feel great.  They're also holding up to Mattie being on them a lot.  They are definitely going with us to Kosovo to be put on the floors there.

Pinwheeled

Done with the wavy line and done with a pinwheel.  Looking like progress.

Owly Pattern

Picked this up at Cabbage Rose while stopping in for some black fabric - with Andreas.  What was I thinking to let him in there?  We did get the black fabric - and a lot more.  The owls will be made from stash, and I am so hoping for some free time when we move in.

Left Bottom

I am now working left to right down to the bottom.  The left corner is all done now.

Pretty Flowers

I found this kit at the quilt show in Arlington last month and decided it was my splurge.  I can't wait to start it, but I've got so much to do with moving right now.

Getting A Head

Still working on ears, but at least the gargoyles are beginning to get heads, too.

Queenly To Start

This is what I bought the consitution fabric for.  Now I have everything else for it and am ready to stitch.  I will also try to redo the Lady of the Flag on this kind of fabric too.

A Small Finish

I finished this tiny flag last week.  It's looking good, and I will make it into a tiny door knocker.

Getting So Big

I have stitched enough of this now that it's hard to tell any progress.  I mainly did a lot of green under the wings this time.

New Kits

I had the chance to get all three of these together through Stitchy Box, so I did.  I hope I can start them soon!

All Mushroomed Up!

Yay, my cute little Russian mushroom kit is done.  I am thinking of framing it in an embroidery hoop.  I think it came out pretty well.

New Mexico Wine

These are the kinds of wines I bought in New Mexico.  When I tasted them they were pretty good.  Now to get them to Kosovo.

Wine Stop

This is the entrance to what is supposedly the oldest winery in New Mexico.  We stopped and tasted.  We bought wine.

Another Really Dark

Next week you will get a better photo of this.  I did some more white, got the dark berry line all the way across, and made more feathers.

Applique Quilt Kit

When I went to the quilt show, I bought this applique quilt kit.  The best part is all the pieces are cut and on sticky paper, so they'll stay in place as I applique them!

One More Wing

The top wing of the rightmost bottom butterfly is done!  And more sky and butterflies overall.  This is currently my daily project, so I hope there will be a lot more progress next week.

A Couple Pillars

I worked on the roof pillars today.  The gold petite braid that I needed came in the mail.  I feel like the first (of four) roof is coming together.

The Rio Grande

We stopped at the side of the road to capture the view.  This is the Rio Grande river in New Mexico.  It winds close to the road from Santa Fe to Taos.  The weather wasn't that hot, and the hills were dotted with color.

New Mexico Sunflowers

These sunflowers were blooming merrily at a layby on the way between Santa Fe and Taos.

Topped

The top of the roof is done.  Looks kind of like the tops of two palm trees.

September Done

Yay, September is done!

New Mexico Landscapes

We drove from Santa Fe to Taos and back one day last month, and I took photos of some of the landscape.  It was surprisingly green for August.  This was very close to the Rio Grande river though.

On The Middle Top

I am currently stitching these little garden stakes on the mandala.

Not Cutting The Rug

Mattie, our dog, is resting comfortably on one of the rugs we purchased while in India.  They got here in perfect shape!

Elephant Ears

It seems all I am doing on this project lately is stitching ears.  At some point, the ears have to end, right?
