Flowers

There's a market two days a week above the U-Bahn station where Andreas would catch a train. There's a lady who sells live plants.  Andreas bought me some for our apartment in Frankfurt while we were there.

Medieval Castle

This is the castle where the medieval festival was held.  It was pretty and fairly small.  Beautiful day to explore, too.

Medieval Festival Food

Germany does festival food differently, of course.  On May Day, we went to a festival at a castle not far from Frankfurt.  It was a beautiful day, and we had lunch there.  Andreas had cheesy spaetzle and I had flammekuchen. Both were delicious.  They even had a whiskey stall selling Glengoyne.

Five Guys Frankfurt

We went with Dima to Five Guys because why not?  Burgers were huge but dry. Fries were floppy.  Andreas enoyed his shake, though.

Dinner At Aroydee

We finally went to Aroydee to eat.  It was as good as usual.  I love their soup and Andreas adores their fried chicken and satay.  But his biggest love is the Thai tea.

Thurrn Und Taxis

The day was warm, especially for April in Germany, and we decided to do dinner outside at a fairly fancy restaurant.  Thurrn and Taxis is straight German fare, served well.  Their outdoor tables are in a secluded courtyard, so you don't have a bunch of people traipsing by.  The food was good but, to my taste, uninspired.  Why would you put crab in ginger carrot soup?  Andreas had a very good and tender piece of pork.  I had straight out wiener schnitzel.

CADU -Cafe An Der Uni

We drove to Munich and went to Fruhlingfest.  We also had a lot of fun driving a BMW 300 series. It was fast!  Anyway, we had breakfast before we left with the friends we were meeting.  We went to CADU at the university.  It was a bright sunny day and we sat outside.  The food was delicious and huge.  There was, of course, too much to eat.  That didn't stop us from trying.  This place is evidently known for its breakfast.

Outside Munich

On a fine Saturday afternoon we were out picking a friend up at the Munich airport and decided to do lunch close by.  We found a very good Italian restaurant with lovely presentation and an outside area to sit in.  All the food was delicious and fresh.  After lunch, we walked about a block and got ice cream.

WonWon Korean

Surprise! Korean food in Frankfurt.  The restaurant is run by Koreans and they even use crocheted doilies as coasters.  The food was a bit spicy, but good.  The owner told me to mix my bulgogi more, which was cute.  She was concerned that I ate it properly.  As you can see, the portions were very generous too.

Romer Pils Brunnen

We had dinner with Dima at Romer Pils Brunnen, in the old city.  Dinner was good, if pedestrian and expensive.  I splurged on snails.  They didn't quite have enough garlic.  We wouldn't go to this place again because it's very possible to get the same food at the same quality for less at a lot of places in the city.

Ordered In - Aroydee

Because both of us were sick, we ordered delivery a -lot- in Frankfurt. One of our favorite places to order from and eat at is Aroydee, a Thai restaurant by the Hauptwache.  The food is always hot and fresh.  Unfortunately they don't deliver Andreas' favorite Thai tea.  My soup felt so good on my throat.

Lebanese In Frankfurt

We got to Germany and wandered the shopping area. Had dinner in My Zeil mall at a Lebanese restaurant.  It was not bad, but not great either.  It was, however, very nicely presented.
