Another Band Done

Yes, I finished the ladder band bottom part this week. Now on to the last two bands.

All Laddered Up

The ladder's done on band ten, and all I have to do to complete this section is the bottom border, which I've already started. After that, there are only two more bands to go. Good thing, too. I'm running out of fabric.

Bedecking the Ladder

I'm still adding flowers to the ladder on this band. Lots more to go, but at least there's some progress.

Budding Out

The inside of the ladder part is done, and I added in some of the buds and tendrils. It's coming along a little bit faster than I thought it would.

Adding Greens

I added some green shoots this week to the band, and started with the insides of the main ladder. The picture's even a bit straighter this time. Hopefully next week I'll have more fleshing out done.

In the Ladder Days

Things look a bit crooked, but it's only the picture. Everything's even. The ladder's the central part of this band, and there are flowers all around it. I'm really hoping to finish this piece relatively soon.

Stairsteps

I've gotten the outline of the middle element done; now it's time to get everything else around it started. With this part complete, though, I shouldn't have to worry about having things out of place by much - I hope.

More Alien Figures

I added more to the top border of band ten. It still looks like Space Invaders to me. I'm sure that wasn't the intent in the seventeenth century. Maybe the video game designers got the idea from blackwork?

Band Nine Done and Ten Started

I finished band nine this week - only bands ten through twelve to go, though band ten at least is pretty big. I've started the tenth band, and as you can see, it's a bit weird in design. To me, the top border looks like those aliens from Space Invaders. Anyway, it's good to feel this is progressing somewhat quickly.

Already More Than Half Done

It feels good to have a quick little band after the last few. This one's already almost done. Yay!

One Band Done, Another Started

When I last worked on this in March, I was a bit fed up with it. I'd separated the strands of some Soy Silk and was using them for the border. It shredded like crazy, no matter how short I made the strands. So when I was in Kosovo it got laid aside, and it just got back into my rotation last week. I buckled down and did the last of that border. I'll never repeat that experiment, either. Band eight is officially done, and band nine is started. It's a very small band and I hope to finish it in a couple of weeks. Only three more bands to go after this one!

Nearly There

I'm still working on the last bit of band eight. The way the separated soy luster shreds, it's amazing I have any hair left. I've got just a little bit more to go and then I'll never separate the stuff again.

Nearly Banded

I'm almost at the end of band eight; all that needs to be done is the rest of the bottom line. The problem with this, like the problem with the top line, is that I unplied soysilk to do it. This makes it -very hard- to work with. It shreds and falls apart if you look at it funny. I don't think I'll do it again any time soon, but I need to continue in order to get this band done.

English Sampler Framed

My husband just finished framing this over the weekend. It only took him a few months, and he doesn't do things out in the garage in really cold weather like we had this winter. I think it looks very good and he did a great job!

Tidying Up

I finished the other big flower and even started the bottom edge of the eighth band. All that's left of this band is a little bit of green and the rest of the bottom edge. I'm getting there.

Not Another Flower

This picture is way too pink and yellow, but you can see I made significant progress on my latest band. All the little diamonds are done and quite a bit of the vine they're in.

Another Big Flower

This week, I got a big part of the band done - one of the two large side flowers. I even managed to start a second. All that's left of this band after these flowers is the trellis sides and bottom and then the straight line across the bottom upside down from the top one.

The Wheels on the Blackwork Go Clunck, Clunk, Clunk

Another bit of stuff done on band eight. It's a pretty complicated design and I have two more big flowers to add, along with vining. The four small wheels were pretty easy to put in, though I do think I made the wrong choice in using Elegance for this color - it's just too thick. On the other hand, it adds texture.
I'm getting to another stitching wall, though. Here it is nearly halfway through the month and I've not finished anything so far. Last month, I completed nine things! Next month and the month after are going to be slow finish-wise too, since I leave for overseas again in the middle of next month. I'll be doing other things than stitching and enjoying myself, though, so that should be good!

Old is Back...

This is the last of my pre-Christmas rotation to be added back into the circle. It's Tiramisu and it's a correspondence course from EGA - one which I, of course, didn't finish on time. I'm on the eighth of twelve bands now. The middle of the eighth band is upside down. I accidentally had the picture upside down when I started stitching it, and well.... it doesn't look bad upside down.

Fiddly Bits

I'm working on lots of little fiddly bits in this part. The vine-type thing has knots and diamonds in it. Those I'm doing in a separate color. They're the most tedious part of the band, though.
