19th Century Needlepoint

The Novi Sad museum had a piece of needlepoint done by someone locally and framed long, long ago. It looks like the Berlinwork popular in the 1880-90's. Makes sense, as Novi Sad was still in Austria-Hungary at the time.

More Nineteenth Century

So much furniture on display in this museum, and a lot of the time it's not on the tour.  We were lucky the director took us through it. All these rooms set up like they were in a home.

Little Shields

One of the armoires had little shields instead of squares or circles inlaid.

Nineteenth Century Novi Sad

Inside Novi Sad fortress is a municipal museum.  We were the only people there, so our group got a tour from the museum director, even though we helped perpetrate the "war of NATO aggression."  The museum has a -lot- of furniture rescued from homes in WWI and currently on display.  Most of it is beautiful.

Novi Sad Fortress

The fortress is on the north side of the Danube and overlooks most of Novi Sad. It's of Austro-Hungarian make.  Beautiful vistas.
