Modeling Flight

I wonder what it would be like to be a professional modeler -trying to get all the details right and making tiny parts of big things.  All these photos from the air show exhibit the creativity and dedication and skill these professional modelers have.  It might become easier in the future with 3D printers, but for now, I'll just admire the work of unknown artists.

Last Flights Of Friday

These were Friday's last flights.  As you can see, the weather never cleared and it started to rain.  Time to start the trek back to the metro and to the hotel.

And Now The Insertion

Here's dropping off the special forces and picking them back up.  I sure wouldn't want to do that!

Helicopter Demo

This demo was a bit different.  It involved showing a mock insertion of troops.  Sooo.... load them on and off they go.  Landing tomorrow in photos.  Was pretty interesting to watch!

Never Knew....

I never knew that an unloaded jumbo jet could do a vertical stall as well as a tiny aerobatic plane until I saw this one do it on take off.  It's the new 787, one prepped for Air India, and it did just that.  Its take off was also more like a C 130's than a regular passenger plane's.  Impressive.
