Corners Met!

Yay, the corners met up properly!  I always get a sense of trepidation when I get to the last corner.  Did I count right?  Will they meet up?  How much will I have to rip out?  None of those anxieties came true with this piece.  It's all downhill from here and easy to go.

Presidential Challenge

At the May CyberStitchers meeting, I issued a presidential challenge to complete the Colonial Band Sampler in the next few issues of Needle Arts.  This is my start on the project - two months later.  I've already made a mistake, but I'm not changing it.  I placed the little blue bird on the upper left in the wrong spot.  It's made everything else off a little bit.  I'm just going to roll with it.  After this spot area is done, the rest of the sampler is bands anyway.

Two Full Poppies

Both poppies are done now.  All I need to do is get the border and background finished.

Second Flower Petaling

I -think- I'm over halfway done with this now.  There isn't all that much left to go.

Down The Side

Well, I'm working down the side now and am getting close to done.  The bottom of the lower stem is the upper edge of the bottom band.

A-Bordering

Still a lot of border to go, but the top's almost done.  I like that I have the first flower pretty much outlined.  Gives the piece more character.

Crazy Start #24- Californian Poppy

Yet another piece where you start on the border.  This one, though, uses filament silk, so is a bit finicky.  It shines and is soooo soft, though!

Crazy January #10 - Jubilation

This piece is a little diamond boxtop.  I've got the center done and am working outward.  It's a small design with a lot of different counted stitches.

An Ornament Finish

You haven't seen this before because I started and finished the ornament all this week. See my next post as to why I had to abandon the red and white one. This was from the 2007 Just Cross Stitch ornament issue, and from a design company called Loopy Lou. I hadn't seen any of her designs before this. Being me, I changed the floss and the beads. I'll hopefully be mounting it into a real ornament today. It even counts toward my project challenge, being number thirteen!
