Trinity Valley Quilt Show Part Two

More quilts!  This second one gives an optical illusion when viewed in person.  Some of these are three dimensional, but my favorite of this set is the blue and cream applique.

Trinity Valley Quilt Show Part One

Trinity Valley Quilt Guild in Fort Worth has one of the biggest quilt shows in the country.  The weekend Andreas' parents were in town, we went.  These are the first few quilts we saw.  I particularly like the one right below this in neutrals.  Maybe, one day, I'll be able to quilt again if I can get me, a sewing machine, and enough of a flat surface in the same place.

Found In Budapest

We got lost and found a stitch shop in Budapest.  So.... i had to buy something, right?  Two Hungarian crochet magazines, a quilting ornament kit, and a Japanese embroidery magazine.  Score!

Quilted Ornaments

Andreas' mom Betsy made these ornaments to hang on our arch.  They look pretty complicated.  Thank you!

Addicted?

My mother in law Betsy made this beautiful wall hanging quilt for me!  It's going to hang over my sewing machine once we get some large command strips.  Our walls are concrete, so putting nails or screws in them is difficult.  Isn't the quilt great?  She's embroidered several areas of the sewing room, and I think she believes I'm addicted to embroidery.  I probably am.  I love this and can't wait to display it!

Quilted!

I had this quilt top finished for quite a while, but never got around to doing anything with it.  I'd promised a friend that I'd make her a quilt for her baby, so... she looked through my pieced quilt tops and picked this one.  I didn't have time to hand quilt it last summer between moving and the shortness of time of a pregnancy, so I took it with me to the States and had a quilt shop in Shreveport quilt it for me.  She did a really good job and it was very inexpensive!  The only part of that I didn't like was that I had asked her not to bind it.  I wanted to put an ecru lace on the edges.  She bound it instead... these are the pictures my parents-in-law took of it before they shipped it off to Florine, who'd also moved in the meantime, for Alexandra.  It got there just before she  was born in October!

More Fabric

I visited a quilt shop in Shreveport, too.  I bought significantly more there than the needlepoint shop.  A stash picture is here.

Quilting Stgash

I went to a class just after I got to Fort Worth.  It was hand applique at The Cabbage Rose.  You can see what I did in the next picture down.  Anyway, there was a ten percent discount on anything bought that day for class attendees, so I bought.  These pictures, though, are the shopping results of two trips.  I went back about a week after the class, too.

Quilt Done

This quilt was a scrap random thing that I did a couple of years ago and then left half quilted when I got bored with it. I finished it this week and am letting my husband figure out what to do with it. As per suggestions from a previous post, he may frame it. It's not great work, but it's a kind of cute little nothing.

UFO Be Gone

I started this a couple of years ago. Piecing's always easy for me; it's the quilting part that bogs me down. Two of the rows of triangles were already quilted when I picked this up last week. At the time of this picture, the third row is halfway done. Since this picture on Friday, I've finished it! Not only is the quilting done, but it's bound up and completely finished. Now to figure out what to do with it. It's about the size of a placemat...
