Starting To Wine

I've started another round robin.  This one is all about wine.  First up is Kathy's block.  She said anything wine related, so I decided to do some grape vines and a list of wines from around the world.

Roses Block Done

Yellow roses everywhere!  Thank you ladies for doing a great job on my block!  Now to finish it into a quilt and donate it for raising money for Texas firefighters.  I hope it earns them a nice little bit.

Year Of The Dragon Block

Last month we started an Asian nights round robin with small blocks.  The first one for me to work on was Carol's.  Since it's the year of the dragon and I couldn't find anything else I really liked, I embroidered a slithery dragon on the center of her block.

Long Way Home

This round robin ended oh, nine months ago?, but I just now received the blocks back.  They took a detour.  I think they came out great, don't you?  I'm leaning toward completing these as individual ornaments, but haven't quite decided to yet.

Last Of The Roses

Rita's block was the last one I worked on in the Roses, Roses, Roses round robin.  As you can see, it's pretty full, with the exception of the middle.  Not even a seam empty!  I had two options - make a really dramatic middle or tone the middle down to let the other works around the edges draw the eye.  Because of the prints, I decided to go with the latter.  You can see my work below.

Next to Last Roses

This is my next to last rose block to work on.  It's Ruby's, and you can see there's not much space left.  I knew I had to leave some for Rita to do, so I worked mainly on seams and small stuff.  I did one BIG lace seam and a few more small things.  I hope Rita thinks she has enough space!

Another Block of Roses

Top is a picture of Cathy's block as I received it.  Bottom is after my work.  For some reason, this block didn't speak to me at all, and I had a hard time coming up with stuff to put on it.  I hope she likes what I did.

First in a While

I am finally participating in round robins through crazy quilting international again.  Here's the first of someone else's I've done; it's for Kathy S.  The theme of this one is roses.

A New Round Robin

Since I'm almost done with my move, it's time to start a new round robin.  The theme of this one is roses, so I made a nice foundation for them.  My plan is to have only yellow roses and then donate this to some people I know for funds for the firefighters in Texas.  It got sent off last week.  Hopefully the first one to work on will be waiting for me in Moldova when I land tomorrow.

Punked Out

I got my steampunk block back, finally!  I was beginning to worry it wouldn't get here before the move.  It did, though, and I thank the wonderful ladies who worked on it!  Now to add a bit more once I'm settled in Moldova and make it into a clutch.

Monogram Home

This was lost for a little while in my house - my maid had put it on a bookshelf, and I didn't know.  Anyway, finally, here's a picture!  Thank you, ladies, for all your work.  I also don't have a beginning picture because of my main puter being back at the manufacturer getting fixed.  This is home now, though.  It's time to make something of it!

Winter Flowers

The same technical problem that didn't let me show the beginning block for the last one won't for this one.  My new computer has a hardware problem and is sitting at the manufacturer's.  I don't know when I'll get it back.  In the meantime, this is the last of the series of round robin blocks I had.  It's Ritva's winter block and is on its way to her.

One Last English Garden

Arlene's is the last of the English Garden blocks for me to work on.  She wanted pastels, and I picked this fan.  You can see what I did in the photo below.  It's been on its way to her for over a week now.

Darlene's Winter Block

I picked this square to work on for Darlene.  It's got a puppy in the middle and I hope she likes what I did to it.  End picture below.

How Much is that Doggie in the Window?

This is Darlene's winter block.  Each of her blocks had a different theme, and I picked the pooch.  Naked block here, after embellishment below.

English Water Garden Home

I received my English Garden round robin blocks in the mail last week.  Aren't they pretty?  I had asked for a water garden theme.  Thank you so much, ladies!  Now to figure out what I'm going to make from them!

Monogrammed Again

This was the last of the monogram blocks for me to work on.  It's for Nicki Lee, and it came to me a bit bare.  I hope she likes how I added to it.  The finished block is in the picture below.

A Wintry Scene

Wendy picked an icy winter scene for her Winter DYB blocks.  I embellished this one for her.  I hope she likes it.

My Seams Are Done!

I got my seams only blocks back!  I'm so excited about how beautiful they look.  Thank you so much, ladies, for your exquisite work.  I need to do up the last one and then make them all into a wondrous wall hanging!
