Yarn For Grinda

I am doing the Grinda crochet-a-long from Lilibjorn.  This is the kind of yarn she recommends for it.  I decided to do the lower colorway rather than the upper, as the upper looks too juvenile to me.

Pretty Yarn

Who knew the Zweigart outlet would have yarn?  They do, and this is what I picked up.  They also have quilting fabric and paper crafting supplies.  The store is HUGE.

Yarrrn

Not quite sure what I'm going to do with these, but they're added to my stash, courtesy of Lion Brand.

I Indulged

Turns out I have a lot of afghans to make.  What to do? Shop for yarn.

Indian Cotton

I bought this cotton yarn at the same place I bought the long stitch kits.  I was surprised that they had a wide selection of wool and acrylic yarns in Mumbai's climate, but the proprietor explained that he's the only shop in Mumbai to stock such things.  He does a good business in it.

Yarrrrn

Andreas made the mistake of booking us into an apartment with a yarn shop on the same block, then didn't take photos soon enough for me to start while still in Vienna.  Result?  These balls are going in my stash and the afghan I'm making is using Caron Cakes.

Yarn From Kendal

Found this yarn in a little shop in Kendal.  Now to figure out what to make.

Caron Cakes

Michaels had Caron Cakes for sale online, but only in bags of three.  For some reason, this yarn is very hard to find.  I bought a few.

Yarn From Florida

My trip to Florida wasn't a complete bust, stash-wise.  We found the Destin Yarn Shop and bought all these pretty things!

Birthday Present

While they were visiting us in Fort Worth, Andreas' parents gave me a birthday present.  It's a bunch of sewing and embroidery supplies, and Betsy, his mom, made the needle case and ort basket herself.  Thank you very much!  I now need to get some way to set things up and start making stuff.

Pretty Yarn

While in Poland I needed a little to go project when on tour buses.  I found this yarn at a little shop off the main square and started making a cowl.

Yarn In Frankfurt

We found a delightful yarn shop in Frankfurt.  It's on the 18 tram line the stop before Konstablewache coming from the consulate.  The owner's very friendly and helpful.  Her yarns are gorgeous, too!

Love The Colors

I love the colors of these yarns, especially the ones on the left.  They're being turned into a shawl and a hat when I get the time.  Both were bought locally at Gemeni.

Found At Woolworth's

I know Woolworth's is big in Australia, and that it has closed in both the US and the UK.  Evidently, it's open in Germany.  We found one while in Frankfurt and Andreas encouraged me to buy this tape yarn.  I have ideas for it, I just need to find the time now.

Broke Down

After months of being on a yarn diet and only using what I have around the house, I broke down and bought two skeins of Alize.  It was the colors that made me do it!  Besides, this is my absolute favorite yarn to work with.

Yarrrn

Also before I left Montevideo, I bought yarn from the Manos del Uruguay outlet.  Got some nice things at a good bargain.

Yarn or Ribbon?

There is a little yarn shop about a block from the Manos del Uruguay outlet shop, and we stopped in there last week.  I found this vicose yarn in this pretty pink color.  I think I'm going to use it to make ribbon roses!  The drape will let them be fluid and blowsy, I hope.

Yarn Stash

The same day I bought the magazines, we went to the yarn shop.  I got alllll this!  It was only about $30 US.  Not bad at all.  Uruguay has several yarn manufacturers, and the quality's very good.  Now to start making something.

And while we were at the Port Market, we found this kilo of spun wool for about the same price.  It's nice and fluffy feeling.  I'm going to make something and then dye and felt it.
